Chapter 27 Setting the Wedding Date
During the dinner time, Adrian's aunt, Melissa, was the last to arrive. Seeing her alone, Ruben frowned and asked, "Where's Daniel?"
"He said he's at a birthday party for a female classmate," Melissa replied.
"Daniel's got a girl he likes?" Ruben's frown turned into a grin. "He's not a kid anymore. If she's the right one, bring her over so we can meet her."
"Yeah," Melissa replied, but she wasn't as thrilled. She knew her son too well to get her hopes up.
Natalie, listening to the conversation, was a bit surprised.
She'd been so busy lately that she hadn't seen Daniel. But she did hear some gossip at school that he was dating a girl named Emily Cooper.
So it was true.
'Well, that's a relief. At least he won't be bothering me anymore, and I won't have to come up with excuses to turn him down,' Natalie thought in relief.
On the way back, Adrian was driving. He glanced in the rearview mirror and noticed the pearl necklace around Natalie's neck. "Melissa gave you that?" He'd seen Melissa take her for a walk after dinner, and she came back with the necklace.
"Yeah," Natalie replied.
"What did she say to you?" Adrian asked.
"Melissa said..." Natalie started, then hesitated, her lashes fluttering. She fell silent.
"Hmm?" Adrian thought he hadn't heard her clearly.
"Melissa said," Natalie repeated, her ears turning red in shy, "that she hopes we set a wedding date soon and have a baby early."
Adrian's eyes darkened as he looked at her through the rearview mirror. He squinted slightly.
Indeed, it was time to set the date. But for some reason, Natalie's face flashed in his mind.
Even when he glanced at 'Alice' in the rearview mirror, he couldn't shake the feeling that it was Natalie he saw.
Natalie really left an impression on him!
Meanwhile, on Alice's hospital bed, two figures were entwined.
Alice bit her lip, moaning louder and louder.
The man smacked her butt. "Aren't you afraid the nurse will come in?"
"It's your fault," Alice said playfully.
Her face was still covered in a rash, making her usually pretty face look less appealing. The man found her a bit repulsive, but she was wild in bed.
"When will your face get better?" the man asked.
"The doctor said if I keep it under control, most of it will be gone by next week," Alice said, frustrated. If it weren't for the allergy, she'd be with the Howard family now, not that bitch Natalie!
The man smirked. "What if your dad or mom walks in on us? We'd be screwed."
Alice, drenched in sweat, was lost in pleasure. "My parents won't come at night. Carlos, stay with me tonight. I'm so bored alone."
"Compared to Adrian, I'm way better, right?" Carlos, Paul's son, had a fierce competitive streak whenever he thought of Adrian.
Alice froze. She'd never slept with Adrian, so how would she know?
Even though that night at the hotel got her engaged to Adrian, he never touched her. He was polite but distant.
It drove Alice crazy!
As they were about to reach the climax, Alice resisted. "No, stop. If I get pregnant, it'll be a disaster."
