Chapter 1282 Night Market
Natalie nodded, "I see."
"Those who signed the agreement." She paused for a moment, looking at Adrian and nodding.
Instantly, she understood.
Drug trials.
The wealthy were ransomed.
The poor lived under this agreement.
Adrian stayed in Suncrest City for three more days.
The villa was lively, with Rachel flitting around Natalie and Adrian like a little bird every day.
When Adrian said he would introduce her to a boyfriend, Rachel dodged faster than anyone.
Natalie's scenes were scheduled during the day, leaving her with plenty of free time in the evenings.
Rachel took them to the night market, to gatherings lit by lanterns, and to many places filled with the hustle and bustle of life.
Natalie held Adrian's arm, "What time is your flight tomorrow?"
"10 AM."
The street was crowded.
Shops lined both sides, selling all sorts of things.
Rachel and Beatrix walked ahead, stopping every few steps to buy various snacks.
Their hands were already full, but their eyes were still scanning the stalls.
They whispered to each other, seemingly discussing what to buy.
But they also seemed to realize they had bought too much.
Finally, Rachel said, "We're already here, might as well buy a little more."
Natalie's hand rested in the crook of Adrian's arm, and they walked slowly.
"Do you like this?" Adrian stopped in front of a small stall.
"What?" Natalie followed his gaze.
She saw Adrian looking at bracelets laid out on a rug.
They were handmade by an elderly lady and looked very delicate.
"How much is this?" Adrian bent down and picked up a bracelet.
The elderly lady smiled kindly, "This one is $78. The beads are pure silver. It will look beautiful on your wife."
"We'll take it." Adrian realized he didn't have any cash on him and felt a bit awkward.
Natalie chuckled softly, "I have cash, here you go."
Natalie took some money out of her wallet and handed it to the elderly lady, "Do you have any for men?"
"Yes, the one I'm working on is for men. Black cord with silver beads, very nice. You can choose the beads you like from here."
Natalie looked down, picked a few beads, and handed them to the elderly lady, "This one, please make it suitable for a man."
The elderly lady smiled, "Sure, it won't take long. You can continue shopping and pick it up when you're done."
Natalie held Adrian's arm and walked forward, "So, is this my gift to you, or your gift to me?"
"I forgot to bring cash, I'll transfer the money to you later."
"Just $78? That amount is nothing to Mr. Howard."
Before Adrian could respond, Natalie said, "How about you cover all my expenses on this street tonight?"
Adrian smiled indulgently, "Of course."
