Chapter 1041 A Resolute Breakup

Jasmine Mansion.

Inside the villa, Yancy lounged on the sofa, looking pretty laid-back. He was in his pajamas, like he just rolled out of bed, with his hair all messy.

Heather sat across from him, feeling relieved he was okay. "Yancy."

It was her first time at Jasmine Mansion. She'd only been to the Blue Bar and the place upstairs where Yancy crashed. He'd mentioned Jasmine Mansion before, but she'd never actually been there.

Yancy eyed the woman in front of him. "You look so plain. How did I ever fall for you? I must've been out of my mind, or maybe you had something on me."

Heather's face went pale, her eyes wide in disbelief. The Yancy she knew would never say stuff like that. But now, the Yancy sitting across from her felt like a total stranger.

Yancy continued, "I made it clear over the phone. It was just a fling, and now it's over. You came all the way here to hear me say it again. Why do you like to humiliate yourself so much?"

"No, there must be some reason, right?" Heather clenched her fists, her knuckles white, nails digging into her palms.

"I told you, it was just a casual fling. I didn't expect you to take it seriously. Heather, we're from different worlds and not right for each other. I was only with you to get back at Cassidy. You're not my type. Heather, you're too boring."

Heather couldn't hold back anymore. "Yeah, I made a fool of myself." She stood up, her body swaying. The familiar face in front of her now felt strange, and her heart ached like it was being stabbed. "Yancy, I was so stupid, clinging to you like that."

"I'm sorry for bothering you." Heather's eyes reddened.

She laughed at herself. 'How pathetic. I actually thought there was something real between us. You gave me hope, Yancy, and then you crushed it with your own hand.'

"Yancy," her lips trembled, "can you call my name one more time?"

Yancy didn't know why, but seeing her reddened eyes made him feel a bit uncomfortable, like his heart had been pricked.

Involuntarily, he called out, "Heather."

Heather shuddered, her tears falling.

The man who used to call her Heather had changed.

Heather turned, straightened her back, and left.

Yancy took a few steps forward.

A name seemed ready to burst from his throat. But he didn't call it out.

Suddenly, he clutched his chest, thinking, 'It hurts. Why does breaking up with Heather make me feel so uncomfortable?'

Lucy quickly supported him. "Mr. Bailey, is something wrong?"

Yancy shook his head.

Lucy said, "Mr. Bailey, don't be fooled by that woman. You had a little argument with Mrs. Reynolds and went to the bar to drink. That's where you met Heather. Heather used dirty tricks to become your girlfriend."
