Chapter 280 Rosalie's Secret
"Alright then," Jerry said, closing his eyes. "She's stuck here, suffering under Avery's abuse. Those people are monsters. I only see her when I clean, just a glance, no interaction. The bodyguards treat her like a prisoner and even stop her meds whenever they feel like it. Avery is heartless!"
Natalie clenched her fists, determined to make Avery and Alice pay.
Rosalie had been staying with Natalie at Blue Mountain Community. Natalie's work schedule was all over the place; sometimes she worked nights, other times she finished early and helped out during the day.
When Rosalie woke up, Natalie had already gone to work. In the kitchen, Natalie had left breakfast and a note with some reminders. Rosalie smiled, thinking how wonderful and considerate Natalie was. But her smile faded; unfortunately, Natalie wasn't her biological daughter.
After breakfast, Rosalie went downstairs. Having been in the hospital for so long, everything here felt new. She looked at a map and wandered around out of boredom, eventually taking the subway to the city center.
Outside a coffee shop, a crowd had gathered. People were holding their phones, trying to capture something. Curious, Rosalie walked over.
"I heard Nora is filming here today!"
"Not just Nora, Alaric Lawson is here too! I'm so excited!"
"Look! Who's that? A newcomer?"
"No idea, but she's pretty!"
"You don't know her? That's Alice Cullen, Adrian Howard's fiancée!"
"Oh, her. What's she doing here? Joining the entertainment industry?"
"Yeah, she's debuting with Alaric and Nora. She's got amazing connections."
Rosalie initially thought it was a discount event, seeing the crowd and lively atmosphere. She realized it was a film shoot when she got closer. Not interested, she was about to leave when she heard the name "Alice." She stopped and pushed through the crowd.
"Hey, Madam, you're a fan too?"
Rosalie smiled, "Just joining the fun."
She strained to see inside, peering through the window at the filming scene. She finally spotted Alice, but someone blocked her view. The indoor scene took over two hours to shoot.
The crew began to usher the crowd away, but there were too many people, including many fans of Alaric and onlookers. The crew had to set up a barrier.
Kevin shouted, "Alright, all groups ready, action—"
Alaric walked out. Then, Alice came out of the coffee shop, looking panicked. "Listen to me! It's really not like that!"
"Enough! I don't want to hear your explanation!"
At this moment, Nora walked out, and the three of them had a confrontation. Alaric's assistant drove up, and Alaric got into the car. Alice hurried to chase after him but suddenly slipped.
"Ah!"
Nora, seeing her pregnant belly, quickly reached out to help. Alice was fine but twisted her ankle. The director's team immediately gathered around. "Are you okay?"
"Ms. Cullen, are you alright?"
Rodolfo was sweating bullets. If Alice got hurt, it would be hard to explain. Rosalie saw Alice get injured and quickly walked over. "Ms. Cullen, are you alright?"
Alice's ankle hurt badly. Hearing Rosalie's voice, she looked up. "Why are you here?"
