Chapter 357 Doesn't Like
Alice was twisting the truth. "She tried to seduce my fiancé, and I caught her. She almost succeeded because she looks like me. She even has a thing with Daniel. Her private life is a mess. Since you're my fiancé's friend, I'm warning you not to be fooled by her."
Raymond had seen deceitful women before, but Alice's level of deception was almost comical. Ironically, from the moment he met Alice, he didn't like her. He found her hypocritical.
Even though this was their first meeting, he inexplicably disliked her. Her resemblance to Natalie was off-putting. Same looks, but Natalie seemed gentle and pure, while Alice looked flashy.
"Ms. Cullen, I know what kind of person Natalie is. If many great guys like her, it just shows she's amazing. Maybe your fiancé thinks so too. Instead of trying to mess with me, ask Adrian why you're not as good as Natalie."
Alice was stunned. She didn't expect Raymond to say that. "You!" she sputtered.
Raymond looked at her with disdain. His gaze fell on her abdomen. He couldn't understand how someone like Alice could marry into the Howard family. Did she have something on Adrian? Otherwise, how could Adrian end up with her?
In the private room, Natalie was sipping soup and enjoying dessert. Her phone buzzed. It was a message from Adrian: [Come over.]
Natalie just glanced at it and kept eating.
After a bit, Adrian sent another message, clearly annoyed: [Who allowed you to go out alone with Raymond?]
Natalie replied: [Why can't I?] Then added: [Mr. Howard, you're being overly controlling.]
Adrian: [Natalie!]
Even through the screen, Natalie could feel Adrian's frustration.
Natalie typed back: [Mr. Howard, I'm just having a dinner with him. Why are you so mad? Have some ice water to cool down. Your fiancée is outside. If she sees us and gets upset, what will you do?]
Adrian: [Sharp-tongued!]
Suddenly, the door opened. Alice walked in. She glanced at Natalie, who was calmly eating. Alice bit her lip. With Adrian there, she couldn't lose her temper; it would ruin her image. Otherwise, she would've torn into Natalie.
She sat opposite Adrian, softening her voice. "Adrian, I just went to the restroom, and the baby kicked me. I can't wait for this child to be born."
In two months, barring any surprises, she would become Adrian's wife. But the baby was a huge surprise!
"In two months, you'll give birth. Take good care of yourself. I'll arrange regular check-ups," Adrian said.
Ruben valued this child greatly. Adrian looked at Alice, feeling conflicted. He realized he no longer had the same feelings for her. It was strange. Sometimes, she attracted him, and he felt happy during their brief interactions. But more often, he didn't like her. He could see through her little schemes easily.
