Chapter 185 Dining Together
"Natalie, now that you've broken up with your boyfriend, and I've broken up with my girlfriend, don't you think we'd be a good match?" Daniel had been pursuing Natalie for a long time. Though he’d had many girlfriends, Natalie was the one who intrigued him the most.
Adrian stopped, and finally realized that the girl behind Daniel was Natalie.
Daniel looked towards Adrian's direction, and immediately called out, "Adrian."
Natalie was startled.
She slowly turned around and saw Adrian standing about ten meters away.
Adrian walked over to her with his hands in his pockets. "Melissa asked me to invite you to dinner."
"Natalie, Adrian is here now, so don’t make me look bad." Daniel whispered softly in her ear, his warm breath startling Natalie. As she jumped back, a male hand gently steadied her waist. When she turned, she saw Adrian standing right behind her.
His voice was low and emotionless. "Since my brother has invited you, you might as well join us for dinner."
"Thank you, Adrian." Daniel laughed heartily, grabbing Natalie's wrist and pulling her towards the living room. Natalie struggled to break free but failed, feeling a cold gaze on her back.
Adrian, with his hands still in the pockets of his sweatpants, kept his eyes on Daniel's grip on Natalie's wrist, squinting slightly.
Melissa saw them as soon as they entered the living room. She was slightly surprised to see Daniel holding Natalie's hand. Natalie tried to pull away again.
Daniel finally let go of her hand, thinking there was no rush. After all, Natalie had broken up with that doctor, so he had plenty of chances now. He'd deal with worry about it after dinner. He introduced her to Melissa, "Mom, this is Natalie. You might remember her."
Melissa's gaze fell on Natalie.
She wore a light pink long dress, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders, and her face was serene and gentle. Of course Melissa remembered Natalie. She was the maid of the Cullen family, Jagger's girlfriend.
But why was she with Daniel?
Though surprised, Melissa kept her smile. "Natalie, come in and sit down."
They walked into the living room.
Alice's expression instantly changed upon seeing Natalie.
"What are you doing here? Weren't you leaving?"
Her voice was abrupt, drawing the attention of everyone in the living room. Alice stood up, afraid of being found out. "Ah, you, weren't you..."
Seeing her panic state, Natalie just smiled. "Ms. Cullen, Mrs. Cullen asked me to bring something to you. I was about to leave when I ran into Daniel."
"Oh, right, right." Seeing that she hasn’t been exposed, Alice finally signed in relief. But she glared at Natalie, couldn’t believe that one day she would be manipulated by someone like her.
Daniel said, "Natalie is my classmate, Mom. I was just going to take her out."
Melissa frowned. "Nonsense, tonight is a family dinner. How can you go out to eat?" Understanding perfectly well Daniel's intentions, she added, "You and Natalie can just stay here and have dinner with us."
Alice became a bit flustered. "Mom, Natalie might have some other plans."
