Chapter 216 Self-Esteem
She thought, 'How is that possible? How can I be in Adrian's bedroom?'
Natalie glanced around.
Adrian lived in a small suite, with the living room outside. Last night, he rested in the living room.
The bedroom was left for Natalie.
Natalie held the blanket in front of her chest, clutching the corner. "I... how did I end up here?"
She thought carefully. It seemed she had lost her balance and fallen off the deck yesterday. Then, it dawned on her. It must have been Adrian who saved her.
Natalie said, "Thank you, Mr. Howard."
Adrian uttered, "Thank me? How? If you ever want to commit suicide again, get far away from me. Don't die in front of me and dirty my sight, understand?"
"I..." Natalie wanted to explain as she looked into Adrian's eyes.
She thought, 'Does Adrian hate me that much? Yeah, I had the truth or dare game last night. I had an abortion. My private life is a mess. Countless slanders were directed at me. Adrian already dislikes me, and now, he must utterly despise me. If he haven't happened to come across me, I will have died quietly last night.'
She couldn't swim. Even if she fell into shallow water, with her drunk state, she wouldn't survive.
Natalie said, "No matter what, Mr. Howard, I still have to thank you."
Natalie wanted to leave but found herself in a bathrobe.
She thought, 'How can I walk out like this? If I walk out of Adrian's bedroom like this, anyone who sees would think I've slept with him last night.'
She looked around but didn't see her clothes and thought maybe they were in the bathroom. She got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom. As she passed by Adrian, he grabbed her by the waist.
The next second, she was thrown onto the bed, and Adrian pressed down on her.
Natalie called out, "Adrian, what are you doing?"
"Awake?" Adrian looked at her. "Since you're awake, let's do what you should do when you're awake."
Natalie was shocked.
She felt Adrian's readiness.
The next second, her bathrobe was easily undone and slipped off her shoulders. Before she could react, a sharp pain hit her as Adrian bit her collarbone.
"Ah, what are you doing, Adrian!"
Adrian released her, looking at her pained face, and grabbed her chin with one hand. "You still know I'm Adrian?"
"Of course I know." Natalie didn't understand what was wrong with Adrian. He suddenly seemed to go mad.
Adrian stared at her, his pupils tense. "Tell me, was it Rex Ingram? Or Sam Wheeler? Or Aaron Hawkins? Who was the man? Who did you sell your first time to?"
Natalie frowned in pain.
She thought, 'So it's because of this.'
Natalie looked at his crazed expression and suddenly smiled faintly. She hoarsely said, "No."
Adrian mentioned a few more names.
She still shook her head with a smile. "None of them."
Adrian was mad. "Then who!!"
Natalie looked at him. "Have you ever thought, maybe it was you?"
"Me?" Adrian sneered. "Natalie, don't play such low tricks in front of me. I only returned to the country in April this year. I've only seen you a few times. The first time I had sex with you, you were no longer a virgin."
He lowered his head, his voice close to her ear. "If you really want to lie to me, at least get a hymen repair first."
"Oh, so you know I'm lying. Then why ask?" Natalie seemed a bit self-mocking. "That night was too dark. I don't remember what the man looked like."
Adrian's grip on her chin tightened. He was seemingly furious. "Do you have no self-esteem?"
"Self-esteem??" Natalie's voice carried a hint of mockery. "What is self-esteem? Is it useful?"
