Chapter 1038 Jagger Receives an Invitation

"My endorsement got snatched by Natalie, and now all the goodies from Dynamic Entertainment are going her way. Even Finnian and Heather are backing her up. Sure, I have shares in Dynamic Entertainment, but they don't mean squat. The guy I've been crushing on forever? Yeah, he married Natalie. Mira, I'm just a total loser, right?"

Usually, Wendy's all cool and composed, but now she looked so fragile and helpless. She were green with envy, like all her defenses just crumbled in a second.

Wendy had been drinking a lot, and the room reeked of alcohol.

She slumped against the wall, clutching the invitation from Adrian and Natalie, tears streaming down her face. Out of nowhere, she went berserk and ripped the invitation to shreds.

Mira wanted to stop her, but seeing Wendy so broken, she just sighed and walked out, hoping Wendy would pull herself together.

At the hospital.

In the ward, Jagger finished his rounds, double-checked the charts of some critical patients, and gave the on-duty doctors a few pointers. He had the night shift tonight, so he was off in the afternoon. After the shift change at noon, he ditched his white coat but didn't leave. Instead, he went to visit Rosalie.

Jagger had no clue that Rosalie and Natalie had a falling out; he still thought Rosalie was Natalie's mom.

Rosalie's condition had stabilized, but she still wasn't waking up. Jagger had asked her attending physician, who said she was recovering well and had a good chance of waking up.

In the ward, there was also a female caregiver by Rosalie's bedside, hired by Curtis.

Jagger had been coming here a lot, so the caregiver knew him. "Dr. Kamel."

Jagger walked in. "Where's Mr. Allen?"

"He left this morning and hasn't come back yet," the caregiver replied.

Rosalie was the only one in the ward.

Jagger walked over to check on Rosalie, his eyes landing on an invitation on the bedside table, with champagne-colored embossed letters. He opened it, and inside was a small embossed model of the Blue Moon Lake building, with two lines of text next to it: [an invitation to Natalie and Adrian's wedding].

Jagger looked at the invitation, his fingers trembling slightly. He wasn't one to keep up with the news, but he'd heard colleagues talking about Adrian and Natalie's upcoming wedding. He looked at the names, and the softest memories in his heart were stirred.

"Natalie," he murmured. "I hope you can be happy. I hope Adrian will truly treat you well."

Jagger left Rosalie's ward and headed back to his office.

Many doctors and nurses greeted him as he passed by.

"Dr. Kamel, didn't you change shifts?"

"Dr. Kamel, have you had lunch?"

Jagger returned to his office. He saw a package on his desk, picked it up, and opened it. As expected, it was the wedding invitation from Adrian and Natalie. They had sent one to him too. Jagger put the invitation away. He was definitely going to Natalie's wedding.

At the Reynolds Group Tower.

Heather sat in the lounge.

"Here's your coffee, Ms. Ross. Mrs. Reynolds is in a meeting right now, so you'll need to wait a bit."

Heather said, "Thank you."

The receptionist walked out.

Heather crossed her legs and glanced at the time. It was now 2 PM.
