Chapter 943 Disparity
Cassidy nodded, feeling satisfied. This was exactly what she wanted.
After a moment, she turned to Ellsworth. "You handle the arrangements. I'll figure out how to get him here this weekend."
"Got it," Ellsworth replied.
Bella stepped out of the hospital. The sun was out, but it didn't warm her up. The chill she felt wasn't from the weather; it was from the weight of everything going on.
Austin was still in a coma. Sometimes his fingers would twitch, but he hadn't opened his eyes yet.
Bella's apartment was close to the hospital, so she chose to walk back home.
Out of nowhere, a black Mercedes pulled up next to her. Nicholas rolled down the window, a cigarette dangling from his lips. "Get in."
Bella hesitated but then got in. The car reeked of smoke.
She frowned. Ever since she got pregnant, she couldn't stand the smell of cigarette.
Nicholas noticed and put out the cigarette right away.
"What are you doing here? Where are we going?" Bella asked.
Nicholas glanced in the rearview mirror. "We have a tail. I'll lose them."
Bella knew Cassidy's people were tailing her. They did it every day.
But she didn't care about that; she was only worried about Austin.
Nicholas sped up. Bella bit her lip and fastened her seatbelt. After about ten minutes and a bunch of sharp turns, they finally lost the tail.
"You still haven't told me where we're going," Bella queried.
Nicholas didn't answer.
"Stop the car. I want out!" she demanded.
"Bella, are you trying to push me away?" Nicholas asked.
"There's nothing between us," she shot back.
"Nothing? Then how did you get pregnant?" Nicholas retorted, clearly provoked.
Bella's face went pale. "Isn't it because you raped me?"
Nicholas's expression didn't change. He just kept driving until they reached a small community and stopped in front of a three-story villa.
Through the window, Bella recognized it as Nicholas's place. It wasn't in a fancy part of Vachilit. In fact, the houses here were cheaper than her family's villa. For someone from the Reynolds family, living here was pretty low-key.
It seemed like Nicholas wasn't exactly the favorite in his family.
The villa was nice but closer to the suburbs. Usually, rich folks bought places like this for their parents.
Bella had no idea why Nicholas brought her here and started regretting getting in the car.
Nicholas opened the door and pulled her out by the arm. Bella struggled and whispered, "What are you doing?"
Nicholas ignored her struggles. Despite his rough actions, there was a gentleness to them.
