Chapter 141 Attitude of Seeking Help
Natalie remembered Adrian's disgust toward her. Their misunderstanding was too deep to be clarified, and Adrian would never believe her anyway.
Natalie closed her eyes, feeling extremely tired.
She slowly lay on the sofa, the softness making her increasingly drowsy.
She drifted off to sleep and had a dream.
It was about a wedding.
She stood beside Adrian, in front of her eyes was a white and pure lace veil. Through the veil, she felt Adrian's gentle kiss for the first time.
So pure, so dreamlike.
Suddenly, the scene changed.
It was the first meeting between Natalie and Adrian.
Adrian was drugged, and Natalie told Adrian her name was Alice.
These scenes kept swirling in Natalie's mind.
Even in her dreams, she felt dizzy, as if her body was falling off a cliff.
When Natalie woke up, her back was covered in cold sweat, and she was trembling all over.
Natalie picked up a glass of cold water and took a sip, feeling a bit of relief in her throat.
As Adrian walked out of the meeting room, Brice was briefing him on the work they needed to do today and tomorrow. When Brice and Adrian reached the door of the CEO's office, Brice suddenly remembered Natalie and quickly said, "Mr. Howard, Ms. Teeger is here. She's in the lounge."
Adrian paused.
"Natalie?" he asked.
"Yes, Ms. Teeger has been waiting for you for an hour," Brice replied.
"Ask her to come to my office," Adrian instructed.
Brice glanced at Seraphina sitting nearby. Seraphina quickly got up, knocked on the door of the lounge, and said, "Ms. Teeger, Mr. Howard is here. He wants you to go to his office."
Natalie entered Adrian's office. Adrian was sitting on the sofa with his knees crossed, looking at her thoughtfully.
Natalie pursed her lips and walked over. "If there's anything you're not satisfied with me, please tell me. If I unintentionally did something to upset you, I apologize. Can you spare Jagger? He's innocent, and he is a good doctor who shouldn't be sued or fired by the hospital."
Adrian picked up his coffee cup and suddenly smirked, his eyes showing displeasure. "Jagger?" he repeated the name. "Are you here today because of Jagger?"
Natalie clenched her fingers tightly, bending over. "I offended you before, and I'm sorry, I hope you can spare Jagger."
"Is Jagger worthy?" Adrian said unhappily. "Natalie, is this your attitude of seeking help? Jagger is simply a waste, and you're here to plead for him!"
A hint of embarrassment appeared on Natalie's face, feeling a bit at a loss. "What do you want me to do?"
"When seeking help, you should have the right attitude, Natalie. It's not requisite for me to instruct you."
Natalie gritted her teeth.
Her fingers were tightly clenched, and the knuckles turned pale.
Adrian's voice was low and cold. "Take off your clothes."
Upon hearing this, Brice immediately turned and left the office.
Natalie couldn't help but tremble all over.
But Natalie seemed to have anticipated it long ago. After a while, she took a deep breath and then removed her denim jacket, followed by her white shirt.
The office seemed to have no air conditioning on, and Natalie felt a bit cold.
Natalie lifted her head to lock gazes with him, her eyes brimming with a ruddiness suggesting imminent tears. Looking at Adrian sitting on the sofa with his knees crossed as if a king in the dark night. His blue eyes made her afraid.
Natalie took off the last piece of clothing and hugged her body protectively.
Adrian raised his hand. "Come here."
Natalie walked over step by step.
Natalie already knew what she was about to face.
