Chapter 1283 There Was Still Lingering Tenderness In His Eyes

"This is for you." Adrian suddenly took out a silver ring, a simple and elegant band.

Adrian lifted Natalie's hand and placed the ring on her ring finger. Her slender fingers looked beautiful with the plain band.

Natalie looked at the ring; it was a perfect fit.

"How did you know my ring size?"

Adrian seemed slightly taken aback.

When he bought the ring, he had naturally chosen this size without much thought, as if the size was etched in his memory.

There was still a lingering tenderness in his eyes. "It looks great. Keep it on from now on."

During the time he had spent with Natalie, he knew her personality well.

She didn't like flashy, extravagant jewelry, so she rarely wore rings.

The rings he had given her before were kept in her closet, except for one diamond ring that she always wore on a necklace around her neck.

This simple band suited her perfectly.

Natalie's beauty needed no embellishment.

Natalie looked at the ring. "Didn't you say you were out of cash? How did you buy this?"

While Natalie was picking out accessories at the old lady's stall, Adrian had gone to a nearby silver jewelry stall.

It was run by a young person and accepted card payments.

He bought a simple band ring.

"Do you like it?"

"Yes, of course I like it." Natalie lowered her head, her eyelashes drooping.

Under the dim light, her face was bathed in a gentle glow.

She stood on her tiptoes, blushing as she looked at Adrian, then slowly leaned in.

Adrian also slowly lowered his head.

Just as they were about to kiss...

"Natalie, Adrian, do you guys want to eat? There are black pepper chicken wings and sweet and spicy ones. Which flavor do you want?"

Rachel's voice was loud enough to be heard by Adrian and Natalie from five or six stalls away.

At that moment, Natalie felt like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

Her tail stood up, and all her fur bristled.

Natalie's cheeks turned red with embarrassment.

She turned her head down, feeling her face burning, and fanned herself with her hand.

Adrian's handsome face remained calm on the surface, but inside, he was in turmoil.

He glanced at Rachel in the distance and cursed inwardly.

What an oblivious person, calling out at a time like this.

Rachel was busy looking at the barbecue, picking out various foods. She asked Adrian and Natalie but didn't hear a response.

She thought it was because the area was crowded and noisy, so they hadn't heard her. Rachel said to Beatrix, "Keep an eye on things here; I'm going to find Adrian and Natalie."

The atmosphere around Natalie and Adrian was a bit strange.

The whole street was lively, but there was an awkward tension between Natalie and Adrian.

Natalie covered her face with her hand, fanning herself.

She had kissed Adrian before, but this time...

It was too awkward.

And once the atmosphere was ruined, it was gone instantly.

All that was left was a silent awkwardness.

Rachel ran over at that moment.

"Adrian, Natalie, didn't you hear me calling you?"

Natalie coughed, "What?"

"You really didn't hear me. I said there's a good barbecue place over there. Do you want to try it?"

Adrian coldly snapped, "No."

"Adrian, what's wrong with you? If you don't want to eat, fine. I'll eat with Natalie."

Adrian said, "I'll tell Mom and Dad to cut off your allowance."

Rachel bristled, "Adrian!"
