Chapter 554 Seeking Help from Carlos
Alice knew things were getting real. "Mom, we gotta find Frank before Natalie does. That dude's got a ton of videos and pics of me. If they get out, I'm toast, and the Howards will call off the engagement."
Avery was well aware of the gravity of the situation.
Frank was just a low-life thug, no morals whatsoever. He'd do anything for the right price.
Alice had already dealt with Frank once, trying to keep him quiet and pin the blame on Natalie with those photos. Now, if Natalie got to him first, Alice was screwed.
Avery asked, "You still in touch with Frank? How many videos and pics does he have?"
"Six months ago," Alice said, "I met up with Frank. Slept with him once and haven't seen him since."
Avery slammed the table. "Alice, you really let me down!"
Alice begged, "Mom, I didn't want to, but Frank blackmailed me, so I had to. I haven't talked to him since."
Renee chimed in, "Mrs. Cullen, Ms. Cullen, don't stress. Natalie's crew hasn't found Frank yet either. My cousin and his guys are watching all his usual spots. We'll know as soon as there's any news."
Avery sighed, "We can only hope for the best. As long as Natalie hasn't found Frank, we're not in deep trouble yet." She turned to Alice, "Did you make that fake account?"
Alice fessed up, "It was Diana's idea. Mom, I know I messed up. I promise I'll be good from now on."
Even though Avery scolded Alice, she loved her to bits. Alice was her only child, and no matter what, Avery always had her back. When Curtis got mad at Alice, she'd hide behind Avery, who always defended her.
Avery held Alice's hand. "Alice, I almost died giving birth to you. How could I not love you? We both can't stand Natalie, but now's not the time to go against her. Focus on your health, get pregnant with Adrian's kid, secure your spot, marry into the Howard family, and then get back into the entertainment scene. I'll help you with the resources. Once you're back on top, Natalie won't matter. Why fight her now?"
Alice finally got it. "I understand, Mom. I promise."
Back in her room, Alice called Carlos. "Carlos, I need a favor."
Carlos replied, "Of course."
Alice said, "Help me find a guy named Frank."
Carlos joked, "An old flame?"
"No, Carlos, you're the only one for me. I'm in some trouble, and Frank's got some videos of me. I'm scared out of my wits that they'll get out. Only you can help me."
Carlos had connections and knew how to get things done.
Finding someone in Vachilit was a piece of cake for Carlos.
Right now, Carlos and Alice were on the same team, so he agreed without hesitation.
Alice felt a wave of relief. She knew Carlos had the skills to handle this.
