Chapter 1126 Bobby's Call
"The doctor said it's nothing serious, just a tendon injury. I probably won't be able to walk for a month." Rachel replied.
At this moment, a servant came upstairs. "Ms. Howard, there are some pastries Ms. Lawson bought for you."
Rachel had injured her foot, so she had lunch in her room and didn't go to the Howard Mansion's main hall.
She hadn't seen Andrea; it was Natalie who told her that Andrea had come and would live in the Howard Mansion.
The pastries were indeed from a well-known brand. She had tried them before, and they tasted quite good.
But since they were from Andrea, she didn't want to eat them. She opened the box and saw that they were already cold.
She knew it—Andrea wouldn't be so kind as to bring her fresh pastries. They were already cold and not fresh when Andrea decided to give them to her.
Thinking about it, Rachel told the servant, "In the future, if Andrea comes looking for me, just say that I've injured my foot and am not receiving visitors. Tell her she can go wherever she pleases."
"Yes, Ms.Howard."
Natalie knew Rachel's temper and couldn't help but advise, "I know you can't stand Andrea, but right now, Adrian has lost his memory. Besides, she put many efforts to save Adrian in the past. Now that she's here as a guest, , you need to be a bit more gracious, even if it's just for appearances."
"I don't even want to put on appearances. My foot hurts, and I don't want to endure her at all. Natalie, Adrian loves you. Even though he's lost his memory now, he'll regain it soon. But Jamie doesn't like me at all."
"Rachel, if loving someone is so painful that it doesn't bring you joy but only despair, then that person isn't worth your love." Natalie said.
Rachel looked up at Natalie, wondering, 'Not worth my love? But I have loved him for so long. How could I just let go?'
"Natalie, if you were asked to let go of Adrian, would you be willing?" Rachel asked.
Natalie looked at Rachel and said seriously, "Because Adrian and I truly love each other, we'll overcome any difficulties."
"Even thought he's lost his memory, he'll regain his memory eventually. It doesn't matter if there are some difficulties between two people, as long as they love each other."
"But it's different with you and Jamie. Loving Jamie is exhausting and painful for you, with no hope. Rachel, Jamie isn't the only man in this world."
Rachel lay on the bed with her eyelashes lowered, unclear if she truly absorbed what Natalie said.
Natalie sat beside her. "You should rest now. I'll be going."
Natalie needed to go to the Imperial Nightclub, with something to discuss with Melody.
After Natalie left, Rachel covered her face with the blanket, thinking, 'Why did so many people want me to let go of Jamie? Even Natalie said the same thing?'
Rachel knew deep down that there was no possibility between her and Jamie.
Jamie brushed her off because of their familial ties.
But she and Jamie weren't related by blood.
Jamie said it was because she was a daughter of the Howard family, so it couldn't happen.
But Andrea was Jamie's sister.
Turns out, people can be double standards.
Rachel sat up and looked at the pastries on the bedside table. They were already cold.
Andrea's little schemes were too obvious to her. She threw the pastries straight into the trash.
At that moment, her phone rang.
She glanced at it; it was Bobby calling.
