Chapter 926 Severing Ties
Carlos hung his head low. "It's all on me. Alice came onto me first, and I just couldn't say no. She's got a ton of boyfriends, not just me."
He kept spilling the tea about Alice's shady side.
Claire was floored. She couldn't believe someone so shady could act all innocent in front of everyone.
Adrian was just as stunned. He knew Alice had a thing with Carlos, but he had no idea she was that wild!
Carlos seemed to think that by airing all of Alice's dirty laundry, he might get off a bit easier.
Covering his face and shaking, Carlos continued, "Alice was with Frank too. Remember that viral video? It was blurry, and since Alice looks a lot like Natalie, she pinned it on her. But in that video, Alice was with two guys at once! Back in school, Alice was always messing around!"
Most people didn't know Frank, but Adrian did.
Adrian clenched his fists, thinking, 'So, it really was Alice in that video, and she framed Natalie! I had my doubts, but I chose to believe Natalie. I love her, and even if it was her in the video, it wouldn't change how I feel. But now, I know for sure Natalie is innocent.'
Ruben's face showed no surprise. After all these years, nothing seemed to fuss him. But Alice had really crossed the line with the Howard family.
For the first time, so many members of the Howard family had been played by one woman.
Ruben looked at John, who was kneeling. "John, what do you think we should do?"
John replied, "Godfather, I'm ashamed for letting you down. Carlos is my son, and his actions reflect on me. I'll make sure he learns his lesson, but he's my only son. Please, spare him."
Ruben just kept turning his prayer beads. "John, I've been too easy on you. You're getting out of line."
His voice was calm but carried a weight that made John sweat bullets.
John murmured, "I messed up."
"From now on, I'm not your godfather. You've been with me for decades, but now you'll go to Zephyria. They need people there, and you leave today. As for Carlos," Ruben's eyes landed on Carlos, who was shaking like a leaf, "he's your liability."
With that, Ruben stood up. "I'm tired. I'm going upstairs to rest."
John stayed kneeling, his body flat on the ground.
Ruben had cut ties with John. John knew Ruben was aware of the secret casino and the power he had built up over the years.
