Chapter 986 Who is the Killer
It was 6:40 PM. Avery and Alice got there early and were chatting with a few relatives. At the round table for ten, only two seats were left.
Curtis walked in. As soon as he showed up, a bunch of people stood up to congratulate him.
Today was Curtis's 52nd birthday.
Curtis grinned and said, "Thanks, everyone. I wasn't planning on throwing this party, but Alice insisted on booking this private room to invite you all. Please, take a seat."
Curtis was clearly in a good mood, his eyes landing on Avery.
Tonight, Avery was dressed more elegantly. Curtis sighed and sat next to her. "Thanks."
Even though Alice booked the place, Avery had organized everything.
Avery smiled. "It's okay."
They'd been married for over twenty years, and one argument wasn't going to lead to a divorce. Avery felt a bit wronged, but she still relied on Curtis, especially since he was the man she loved.
At that moment, Avery exchanged a glance with Curtis, her eyes red.
Curtis felt guilty and a bit uneasy, especially since he'd been having an affair with his secretary at work. He decided to make it up to Avery.
"We'll talk about it at home after this," he said, holding Avery's hand and giving it a pat.
Avery nodded with a smile.
A few relatives around them chimed in. "Curtis, Avery, you've been married for so long and still have such a good relationship."
"Yeah, it's really enviable."
"Exactly, Curtis, your business is booming, and your daughter is so beautiful. We all envy you."
Although the Cullen Group wasn't the top company in Vachilit, Curtis had built it up himself and it had made significant progress.
Waiters started coming in one after another to serve the dishes.
Natalie was dressed simply today, in a beige top and blue jeans. She walked to the third floor, knocked on the door, and walked in.
Her arrival made Avery and Alice pause for a moment.
Curtis stood up with a smile. "You're here. We were waiting for you. I thought you might be too busy with filming to come."
Curtis had been nice to Natalie before, but not as enthusiastic as now. After all, Natalie used to be an ordinary person, but now she was a well-known actress in the entertainment industry.
Natalie walked over and handed a gift. "Mr. Cullen, happy birthday."
The gift Natalie gave Curtis was chosen by Derek, a very practical business pen, but not cheap.
Originally, Curtis had invited her to celebrate his birthday, and Natalie could have declined with a polite excuse. But she wanted to come here to check out Avery and Alice, to find out who wanted to kill Rosalie. Her intuition told her it was one of these two.
Under everyone's gaze, Natalie sat in the seat to Curtis's left, while to Curtis's right were Avery and Alice.
Alice's expression fell instantly and Avery's face also looked unpleasant.
But tonight was not the time for them to lose their temper, especially with many friends and relatives around.
"You look familiar. Are you that famous actress?" Someone recognized Natalie.
Natalie smiled. "Nice to meet you."
