Chapter 898 Compensation

On the way to the police station, Curtis kept blaming Avery for not keeping Alice in line.

Avery shot back, saying Curtis was never home and didn't give a damn about them.

Things got heated real quick in the car.

They sped to the police station, where Karen was already waiting with Odette and a lawyer.

There was a video from last night showing Alice getting arrested, and Karen hadn't slept a wink, her phone blowing up non-stop.

She kept apologizing to the brand reps, since Alice getting hauled off in their fancy dress was a slap in the face for the brand, and the dress was trashed and couldn't be returned.

Even though Alice hadn't made her comeback yet, they had plans in the works, and now all those resources were toast.

Karen brought a fresh set of clothes for Alice to change out of the brand's dress. Looking at the ruined dress, Karen sighed over and over, "Alice, you were way too impulsive. You know how hard it was to borrow this dress! Didn't you remember what I told you last night?"

Avery saw Karen and the others coming out and thought, 'Is Alice less important than a dress? So what if she's Alice's manager!'

"Karen! What's your deal? It's just a dress. Alice has already had a rough night. What more do you want?" Avery snapped.

Karen was so mad at Avery's attitude that she laughed. No wonder Alice turned out this way; her mom was so unreasonable. Karen glared at Avery. "This dress is a limited edition worldwide, priced at $12 million. Even if the brand gave me a discount, it would still cost $8 million. Now the dress is ruined. When will you transfer the money to my account, Mrs. Cullen?"

Avery shot up. "What kind of dress costs that much? You're doing this on purpose."

"Mrs. Cullen!" Karen raised her voice. "Your ring is also from this brand. Don't act like you don't know. You know the prices better than I do."

Avery was left speechless, staring at the ring on her finger.

Of course, Avery knew the brand; she had spent $1 million just to become a member.

A custom-made dress would cost at least a million dollars.

The dress Alice wore tonight was probably a limited edition.

Suddenly, Avery felt like she couldn't breathe, thinking, 'It's bad enough Alice is still in there, yet we have to pay a fortune for a dress.'

Avery's eyes darted around. "You're Alice's manager. You didn't take proper care of her. Now she's been framed and locked up, and you do nothing. The online hate against Alice is overwhelming, and you do nothing. Karen, you're just useless!"

Avery had no intention of paying for the damaged dress.

Karen had already expected Avery's unreasonable behavior. She handed the dress to Odette and told her to handle it. She looked at Avery. "Mrs. Cullen, you don't plan to pay for the dress, do you? If you don't want to pay, let Alice pay. After all, she ruined the dress, not you. If I can't compensate the brand on time, they'll sue our company, and we have the right to freeze all of Alice's resources."
