Chapter 370 Text Message

Natalie carried a tray with a bottle of red wine, giving Lizzy a cool nod.

Feeling awkward, Lizzy asked, "Natalie, did you see my text?"

Natalie replied, "What text? I don't check my phone while working."

Lizzy explained, "Mrs. Cullen is here, in Emma's office."

As Lizzy was about to leave, the elevator ascended. Natalie paused, then said, "Thanks."

Lizzy tried to apologize, "You don't need to thank me. I'm sorry about last time. I didn't mean to slip up when Ms. Cullen asked. They know we're close, so they assumed I knew where you were. I couldn't hide it..."

Natalie cut her off, "Lizzy, I'm not blaming you." She understood Lizzy's situation but didn't need a friend who'd betray her.

The Cullen family paid well, so Lizzy didn't need to risk her job for Natalie. But Natalie decided to distance herself from Lizzy.

The elevator doors opened, and Natalie walked out. Lizzy watched her, envying Natalie's freedom.

At midnight, Natalie massaged her shoulder, tallied the day's drink orders, got the manager's signature, and headed to the changing room.

"Natalie," someone called.

Natalie, changing clothes in the women's room, responded without looking back.

The voice called again, "Natalie, I need to tell you something."

Recognizing Dorothy's voice, Natalie turned. "What's up?"

Dorothy, who worked under Emma, rarely interacted with Natalie. She bit her lip and said, "Remember when Betty replaced you on the 2nd floor so you could go to the 6th?"

Natalie nodded, "Yeah, what's the matter? Just say it."

Dorothy continued, "That night, did you feel unwell?"

Natalie's eyes narrowed. She finished buttoning her shirt and approached Dorothy. "What do you know?"

Dorothy said, "Finish changing and come with me. I need to tell you something about that night."

In the break room, alone with Dorothy, she decided to spill the beans. Emma wanted to fire her over a small issue, so she wouldn't cover for her anymore. Emma never stood up for her and always threw her under the bus.

"You were working on the 2nd floor when Emma told me to find someone to replace you. I had Betty do it, and when you came out, I handed you a spiked drink. I don't know what drug it was; Emma instructed me to do it and report anything that happened to her immediately."

Natalie had suspected Emma, and now she was sure. She figured Avery wanted her out of Vachilit, so she first approached Melody to fire her, but when Melody refused, she turned to Emma.

Curious, Natalie asked, "The drink you gave me was spiked? How did you know Mr. Howard would drink it?"

Dorothy looked confused. "Mr. Howard? It was supposed to be Mr. Cook."
