Chapter 1361 High-Priced Hiring
"Let's go upstairs and check it out."
A few socialites eagerly followed, excited to see the designer's original creations. Kamille's dress was already a showstopper.
Rebecca watched them head up without even acknowledging her. She knew that if her early spring collection this year wasn't innovative and unique, she'd be dropped by this group of socialites in no time.
Offending this crowd, especially a trendsetter like Kamille, would be a nightmare.
This year's profits would take a hit.
She had invested heavily in expanding the international market and couldn't afford any slip-ups. So, she lifted her skirt and followed them upstairs.
They arrived at the lounge.
Natalie opened a thick book of design sketches, showcasing some of designer Matilda's inspirations.
Natalie and Kamille's dresses were called "The Mystery of Tulips."
"Oh my God, this is stunning! Can I still order it? I don't need it to be unique; I just want this dress."
"I love this one too. It's gorgeous. Natalie, where's this store? Can you give me the owner's contact info?"
Natalie smiled, "I don't have her business card. How about we visit her store together?"
"Sure, when?"
Kamille admired several dresses, "Natalie, you have such a good eye. How did you find such a talented designer?"
"Let me see what designs have caught your attention, Natalie. I need to learn a thing or two," Rebecca said with a smile as she walked over. She glanced at the designs, which were indeed innovative, featuring trendy elements and exquisite embroidery.
She hadn't expected to find such an excellent embroiderer domestically. Her company had previously held an embroidery competition with hundreds of participants, narrowing it down to ten. Her early spring collection also featured embroidery, but the results were mediocre.
Embroidery was time-consuming and often looked stiff.
It didn't have this kind of lifelike craftsmanship.
Kamille didn't care about anyone's opinion. She was happy and didn't spare anyone's feelings. "Rebecca, it seems the designer you hired is quite average. You should definitely learn more."
As a top socialite, Kamille was like a goddess to every luxury brand.
She had countless followers on various online platforms, frequently posting unboxing and recommendation videos. A single video from her could set a new trend.
With her birthday approaching, her warehouse was filled with gifts from major luxury brands. Every season, brands would send her their first batch of new collections months in advance.
Rebecca could only smile and nod, promising to replace the designer.
As she looked at the design sketches, she thought about how to poach the designer.
Such a talented designer couldn't be left outside or fall into a competitor's hands.
That evening, after Kamille's birthday party, Rebecca returned to her black Bentley.
Her assistant handed her a notebook. "Miss Lacey just sent some design sketches to your email. Do you want to take a look?"
Rebecca opened her email, glanced at it, and then shook her head.
