Chapter 385 Adrian Actually Apologized
"Why not? You didn't even try." Grace said. "Rachel is Ruben's beloved. Even though she's not Claire's daughter, the Howard family still cherishes her. Our families have always gotten along. If we can form an alliance through marriage, it would be great. If you don't like Rachel, I won't push you. But at least meet her."
"Fine, I'll go with you tomorrow," Raymond said, tired of Grace's nagging.
As Grace headed downstairs, Raymond had a thought. "Mom."
Grace stopped and looked up. "What's up, Raymond?"
"My head's been hurting lately, and my memory's all jumbled. I keep recalling weird fragments, and when I try to think about them, it hurts, and I can't remember anything. Can you tell me what I was like before?"
Grace's expression changed briefly but then returned to normal. "Why are you asking? If you can't remember, don't force it. I'll get some medicine for you from the hospital tomorrow."
Grace went downstairs. She and Dominic lived on the second floor. When she got back to the bedroom, Dominic had just come from the study. Grace said worriedly, "Dominic, I'm worried about Raymond. I'm afraid he'll remember those bad things."
Dominic held her hand. "The doctor said he wouldn't remember."
Grace shook her head. "I don't know. Those bad things are supposed to be in the past, and our son has finally come back. But why does it seem like he's starting to remember?"
Dominic was silent for a moment. "We'll ask the doctor about it tomorrow."
He patted Grace's shoulder. "Alright, don't worry about it."
Raymond changed his clothes and went to shower. While showering, he looked at his muscular body in the mirror. He turned around and saw a scar on his back. Raymond could see it clearly.
He pressed his lips together.
This scar was in the same place as the birthmark Natalie had described.
Thinking of Natalie, a smile appeared on Raymond's lips. She was an interesting girl.
She pestered him and cried, but he didn't find it annoying. Instead, he was quite interested. He always felt a sense of familiarity with her. This feeling made Raymond feel different when he was clear-headed.
He had tried many times to recall. But he couldn't think of any. Could it be that he really knew Natalie before?
He took out his phone and dialed a number. "Hey, I need you to look into something for me."
Natalie didn't realize her phone was dead until she woke up the next morning. She hadn't charged it after coming back from the movies last night. She found the charger and plugged it in. After washing up, she saw that she had three missed calls, all from Adrian.
Then Adrian had sent her a message.
She sat on the bed, looking at her phone.
[Sorry, I had something come up last night and got there late.]
Natalie pouted. Adrian actually apologized.
She tossed her phone aside, not caring if it was still charging. After a few minutes, feeling like she had vented her anger, she plugged it back in. She thought for a while, not knowing what to reply to Adrian.
She knew he had been with Alice last night. What could she say? Feeling confused, Natalie decided to ignore Adrian.
Since she didn't have a night shift last night, Natalie woke up early. She finished breakfast before 8 AM and took Rosalie to the hospital for a follow-up. The doctor on duty was Jagger. Natalie handed him the report, and Jagger nodded. "All the data looks good."
Natalie finally felt relieved.
As she was about to leave the consultation room, Jagger called out to her, "Wait a moment."
