Chapter 713 Meeting Her
When Natalie reached the doorway, Mindy hollered, "Natalie, c'mon, give me another shot."
Natalie smirked. "I already did. If I hadn't, you'd be out on your butt with Herman ages ago."
Mindy was scandalised. She thought her shady past was a secret.
Once one got a taste of power, they always wanted more. Mindy was no different.
But if they kept their dirty deeds small and sneaky, they could usually get away with it unless someone digged deep.
After Natalie and Heather bounced, Mindy flopped onto the couch, totally defeated. From what Natalie said, it was clear Mindy had blown it big time. Natalie had Heather's back, and even Karen took her seriously. Mindy couldn't believe the sweet, kind Natalie from a year ago had turned into such a boss.
This time, Mindy was toast. She couldn't stick around Dynamic Entertainment Media. But her contract wasn't up yet. Bailing on Dynamic would mean a permanent blacklist in the biz. No other company would touch her. She was done for.
A month after Summer Time dropped, it raked in $600 million at the box office. Not a huge win for Esme, but not a flop either. Esme had already moved on to a bigger project with a better crew, so she wasn't sweating it.
Natalie joined Chris's super-secret crew, with no official announcements or leaks. They'd been filming on the down-low for a month.
The shoot was in Vachilit, and Natalie would sometimes swing by her apartment.
Adrian would pop by Natalie's place, too.
But one day, Natalie got a call from a mystery number. It was Claire.
Natalie was kinda shocked Claire reached out. Claire set up a meet at a fancy coffee shop.
Natalie didn't see that coming but agreed.
After wrapping up reshoots on Saturday morning, Natalie told Heather she had some personal stuff to handle.
Derek drove Natalie to the coffee shop.
Natalie knew Derek was Adrian's guy and said, "Thanks, Derek. I got some personal biz."
Derek had covered for Natalie a bunch before. One thing that kept him wondering was Natalie never turned to Adrian for help, not even once.
Derek nodded. "Got it, Ms. Teeger. I'll be waiting downstairs."
Natalie walked into the coffee shop.
Claire was sitting in seiza on a cushion, and a staff member was pouring coffee.
They set down two cups.
Natalie walked over and seated herself in seiza on a cushion, too.
Claire was rocking a brown trench coat, her face looking flawless with elegant makeup. She had a pearl necklace on.
Claire seemed to have just gotten there， too. She took off her trench coat and hung it up, showing a black sweater underneath. Claire said, "Natalie, long time no see. Last time was last year, right?"
Natalie nodded. Yep, the last time was at the Howard Mansion. Back then, Natalie had saved the Howard Family.
Claire gave Natalie a once-over. A year had passed, and Natalie looked even more stunning. Her face did look like Alice's, but there were differences too.
