Chapter 1087 Avery Sentenced

The news that Adrian was still in a coma and Natalie woke up spread like wildfire through the media. They weren't just any regular folks, especially Natalie, who was a big name in the entertainment world. Anything about her was bound to make headlines. Her movies always killed it at the box office, and she had scripts piling up, but she turned them all down. Fame and success didn't mean squat to her; Adrian was the only one that mattered.

All the fame in the world couldn't fill the void left by Adrian's absence.

Six weeks after Adrian slipped into a coma, Matthew reached out to Natalie.

They needed to reshoot a few scenes for "Yesterday's Mist" because the actress playing the third female lead had said some inappropriate stuff and got banned for good. Natalie had a bunch of scenes with her.

Matthew said over the phone, "Natalie, I know it's a tough time for you, and I didn't want to bother you, but this film means a lot to many people and has a huge investment behind it. We hope you can come and reshoot. It'll only take about a week."

Natalie got it. She thought it over and nodded.

She knew she couldn't let her own funk mess up the whole movie.

The investment in this movie was massive, and she couldn't afford to hold it up.

She quickly replied to Matthew, "I understand. I'll come over next week. I'll have Heather contact you to set up the time."

Matthew was relieved. "That's awesome."

He had been worried Natalie might say no.

Natalie hung up and walked over to Adrian's bedside. She held his warm, cool fingers. "Adrian, I have to go shoot a movie in a few days, but it won't take long, just a week. I'll be back to stay with you after that, okay?"

Adrian didn't respond, still the same.

Natalie pressed her face against Adrian's palm. "I'll take that as a yes."

His palm was a bit cool, and Natalie gently rubbed it in her hands.

Heather was thrilled that Natalie could step out of the shadow of Adrian's coma to go shoot the movie. Even though it was just a week of reshoots, it showed that Natalie was slowly getting back to her old self.

During the shooting, Heather stuck by Natalie's side the whole time.

The reshoots went by quickly, and the week was almost up. Natalie knew Heather had been worried along with her during these six weeks of gloom. She looked at Heather. "I'm okay now. Don't worry."

Heather sat next to Natalie. "Natalie, I still hope you keep acting. Do some commercials, short films, or guest spots on shows. That way, you won't think about Adrian every day and won't be weighed down by all the negative emotions. I'm worried about you."

Natalie looked at Heather. "I'm sorry for making you worry all this time."

Natalie lowered her head and held Heather's hand. "When I was down before, Bella was there for me. Now, I don't know where Bella is or if Nicholas is giving her a hard time. But now, I have you by my side. Thank you, Heather. Even though you say we don't need to thank each other, I still want to thank you. Avery got sentenced to seven years in prison. I'm not happy or sad about it. I went to see Avery in prison recently. She's a madwoman now, eaten up by jealousy. She said she wished I were dead, wished I would fall into hell, and used all sorts of nasty words to insult me. She's heartbroken over Alice, so she insanely envies and resents me."
