Chapter 909 Video Call

Heather stuck close to Natalie as they arrived at the hotel, going over the script together.

Natalie was a stickler for good scripts, so she always reviewed them herself, no matter how good or bad they were.

In the middle of their review, Natalie's phone buzzed. It was a video call from Adrian.

Heather grinned knowingly. "Alright, I'll leave you two lovebirds alone. Go chat with Mr. Howard."

Natalie blushed. "It's not like that."

"Sure it is. It's only been a few days and he's already missing you," Heather teased, a bit envious. "Unlike Yancy, who went to visit his grandma in the countryside and hasn't sent a single message."

"Sounds like you're missing Yancy. Why don't you just call him?" Natalie suggested.

Finding a well-lit spot, Natalie answered the video call.

Lucky's face popped up on the screen, making Natalie smile. "Hey Lucky, where's your dad?"

Lucky seemed to recognize her and barked happily. Adrian's voice came from off-screen. "I'm right here. As soon as I started the call, Lucky ran over, like he knows it's you."

"Lucky misses me too. When I get back, I'll take you out to play," Natalie said.

Adrian chuckled, "Lucky, call her Mommy."

Lucky, being a dog, didn't get it but responded with a series of whines and barks. Natalie could've sworn she heard something that almost sounded like "Mommy."

"How long will you be filming?" Adrian asked.

"About four days," Natalie replied.

"Natalie."

"Yeah?"

"Nothing," Adrian said, his eyes soft with affection.

Natalie smiled.

They didn't have much to say; their connection was so strong that words weren't always necessary.

"I'll be back in four days. Do you like desserts from York City? I heard they're amazing. I'll bring some back for you," Natalie offered.

"Sounds good," Adrian said, missing her more than he could express. He wanted to see her, kiss her, hold her.

Natalie was ready to call it a night, but Adrian didn't want to end the video call. He wanted to watch her fall asleep. So, she plugged in her phone, set it beside her, and closed her eyes. She had an early start the next day, with makeup at 8 AM and filming at 9 AM. Four scenes to shoot in the morning meant she needed her rest as much as she could get.

Adrian watched her sleep, admiring her beautiful face. He reached out and gently touched the screen with his fingertips.

Natalie turned over, causing the phone to flip and the screen to dim.

Adrian lowered his head and kissed the screen.

No one knew how much Adrian missed Natalie, even though she'd only been gone a few days.

The next day, Natalie got her makeup done, and they headed to the set.

They started rehearsing before filming.

Natalie's acting skills were top-notch.

When acting opposite Azalea, who was a senior, Natalie had to come across as mature and reliable. Otherwise, the age difference would be too obvious. After all, Natalie was playing Azalea's older sister.

Luckily, Natalie's scenes were short. Otherwise, the audience might find the age difference jarring.

Even though the age gap wasn't immediately noticeable, the audience would overlook it.

Plus, Natalie had just gained fame from a recent movie, so she wasn't an unknown actress anymore.
