Chapter 981 A Surprise Meeting
Natalie lifted her chin and pointed at the phone Derek had left on the passenger seat. "That's way too obvious."
She waved at Derek, then put on her hat, sunglasses, and mask, and headed towards the Howard Corporation Building.
Derek grabbed the phone from the seat and glanced at the wallpaper—a photo of him and his girlfriend.
Back during that jewelry store robbery, he had saved what he thought was a burden.
Derek chuckled a bit; maybe that burden wasn't so bad after all.
He dialed Aurelia's number. "Where you at?"
"At the hospital, of course. Just finished an emergency surgery," Aurelia replied.
"You working the night shift tonight?"
"Yep."
"My boss gave me a few hours off."
"Wait, aren't you in York City? Are you back?" Aurelia's voice suddenly perked up.
"Yeah, I'm coming to see you."
"Awesome!"
At the reception of the Howard Corporation Building.
"I'm here to see Mr. Howard about a project," Natalie said.
"Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked.
"No, but the amount involved is huge. Mr. Howard will definitely want to see me."
The receptionist looked a bit uneasy. Natalie was wrapped up so tightly she couldn't recognize her, but the bag she was carrying was worth sixty to seventy grand. She didn't seem like just anyone. Still, the receptionist worried Natalie might be one of those socialites chasing after Adrian, who had strict orders not to let any in.
"Sorry, can I get your last name?" the receptionist asked.
"Teeger."
"Alright, I'll register you and make a call to check."
Outside the CEO's office, Brice was at his desk when he got the call.
"Mr. Collins, there's a Ms. Teeger here saying she has an important project with a significant amount to discuss with Mr. Howard, but she doesn't have an appointment."
Brice, having been by Adrian's side for years, was used to this kind of thing.
Hearing "significant amount", he chuckled. He thought this Ms. Teeger was no big deal and found it amusing.
Brice stood up and went to Adrian's office. "Mr. Howard, there's a Ms. Teeger in the lobby saying she has an important project with a significant amount to discuss with you. Do you want to see her?"
Adrian smirked from his recliner by the window. It was the first time someone mentioned a collaboration with such confidence.
Adrian stood up, intrigued. "Sure, let's see."
He wanted to see who had the guts to talk to him like that.
Adrian sat at his desk, hands crossed, waiting.
Brice went downstairs to check out this Ms. Teeger and was stunned. "Ms. Teeger?"
Natalie walked over. "Surprised?"
Brice hadn't expected Ms. Teeger to be Natalie. He quickly walked over. "I thought you were filming in York City. Mr. Howard will be thrilled to see you."
They got into the elevator.
Natalie stood at the CEO's office door and knocked.
"Come in," Adrian's voice called from inside. She pushed the door open and walked in.
Natalie looked around, her gaze landing on Adrian. She took off her sunglasses and smiled, her red lips strikingly beautiful. "Mr. Howard, your office is pretty nice. I'll have to decorate mine like this someday."
