Chapter 1392 No One Like Her

Melissa was fuming as she glared at Quincy. "I know, I know I shouldn't be saying stuff like that. I'm just too wound up."

Quincy put an arm around her. He knew Melissa had a tough exterior, but deep down, she was kind and caring, especially when it came to her family. Because of his illness, Melissa had been running the Murphy family business for years. Now that their son Daniel was grown, he still hadn't settled down because of his feelings for Natalie. It was understandable that Melissa would speak out of turn.

"Melissa, we gotta trust Daniel. Believe that he can handle everything, both his career and personal life."

Melissa paused, then nodded while leaning against Quincy.

Upstairs.

Daniel sat at his desk, staring at his email on the computer, but his mind was elsewhere. After a few minutes, he rubbed his temples and clenched his fist.

He stood up, walked to the liquor cabinet, and grabbed a bottle of whiskey. Taking a couple of swigs, he knew he had never forgotten her. If anything, Natalie's presence in his heart had only grown stronger over time.

He had dated many women, met countless elegant and poised socialites, but none of them had ever touched his heart.

Daniel had once thought he might spend his entire life this way, carrying his love for Natalie through the years. But when he saw her, when he saw her smile, his heart still raced uncontrollably.

She was Natalie, his Natalie.

He knew his feelings were forbidden, but he couldn't control himself. No one compared to her.

Taking another swig of whiskey, Daniel slowly slid down to the floor, sitting on the carpet. He clutched the bottle, Natalie's face vividly appearing in his mind. She wasn't the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, but she was the only one who had ever reached his heart.

He desperately wanted to ask Natalie, if it weren't for Adrian, would she be with him?

But Daniel knew he couldn't ask that. If he did, they might not even be able to remain friends. If he asked, she would always keep a distance from him, never being as close as they were now.

He knew they could never be together.

Daniel finished the bottle and unsteadily got to his feet. If he couldn't forget Natalie, he would have to pretend he had.

Because it wasn't just about him; he had others depending on him.

Daniel pulled out his phone, hesitated for a moment, and dialed a number. "Meet me at the hotel."

A soft, hesitant voice answered, "It's late, Mr. Murphy."

"Right now. Meet me at the Four Seasons Hotel, suite 602." Daniel's tone left no room for argument.

The voice on the other end agreed without further question.

Daniel changed his clothes, grabbed his car keys, and headed downstairs. By now, Quincy and Melissa were already in bed. The lights in the living room were still on as Daniel walked out, started his car, and drove to the Four Seasons Hotel.

He arrived, went upstairs, and opened the door. The woman sitting on the sofa had a slight resemblance to Natalie, but her personality was nothing like her.

Looking at the woman, Daniel spoke coldly, "Go clean yourself up."

The woman stood up, stammering, "Mr. Murphy, I... you never mentioned needing me to come over like this. We don't have... this kind of arrangement."
