Chapter 1090 Paternity Test

Curtis tried to get some answers but got stopped by the cops.

Right now, Curtis couldn't care less. His company was gone, his money was gone, his ex-wife had committed suicide, and his daughter was stuck in a mental hospital. He shoved the cops aside and grabbed Avery. "What did you just say?"

Avery screamed, "It's my fault! Rosalie is the bitch. Natalie was lying! My daughter is Alice. How could Alice not be our daughter?"

The cops pulled Curtis away and pinned him to the ground while the doctors wheeled Avery off.

Curtis looked pale and haggard, his eyes filled with disbelief.

'What did Avery just say? Alice isn't our daughter? Am I hearing things?' After calming down, Curtis thought about Avery's words. 'Honestly, I've had my doubts for years because Natalie and Alice look so much alike. Except for their different temperaments, they look almost identical. People even think they're twin sisters. Rosalie and I did have a few encounters, and I suspected Natalie might be Rosalie's and my daughter, but Rosalie showed a paternity test proving Natalie was hers and Stanley's, which put my doubts to rest. As Natalie grew older, my doubts lingered. With what Avery just said, that Alice isn't our daughter, what does this mean?' Curtis thought, tossing and turning all night.

The next morning.

Curtis rushed to the sanatorium, which was under police watch because of Alice's severe condition. When Alice had an episode, she needed sedatives, but she was normal otherwise. Alice's condition had been around for years, so she wasn't in prison but confined in the sanatorium for six months.

When Curtis arrived, Alice was having an episode.

Alice was biting and tearing at anyone she saw, her eyes red and struggling. The medical staff, all in protective gear, rushed over and sedated Alice, who then fell asleep.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Curtis registered himself as Alice's father, gaining visitation rights three times a month.

Since Alice was now asleep and posed no threat, the cops on duty let him in.

Curtis walked in as Alice was already asleep.

He looked at Alice's face, wondering, 'How can she, whom I've loved for over two decades, not be my daughter? There must be something off.'

Curtis took a strand of Alice's hair, put it in a sealed bag, and left the sanatorium that morning, sending the hair to the testing center with an expedited request. During the waiting days, he was extremely anxious, barely noticing the debt collection calls, just wanting to wait for the test results.

On the afternoon of the fourth day, the results came in.

Curtis got an electronic report on his phone and drove to the testing center to get the paper version.

Sitting in his car, he smoked two cigarettes, afraid to look at the report as he thought, 'What if Alice really isn't my daughter? And what if Natalie really is my daughter?'
