Chapter 452 Meeting
Bella already knew what Marissa was gonna say. She forced a smile. "Alright, Mom, Dad, I'm good. Anyway, it's a done deal. I'll marry into the Reynolds family, get some shares. It's good for our Swan family too. When Austin kicks the bucket, I'll be single again. I'll have money and still be young. No need to worry about me. I'll slap on some makeup after dinner and head over."
After dinner, Bella headed upstairs.
Caleb and Marissa strolled into the living room.
Marissa asked, "Did you meet with Xavier earlier?"
Caleb nodded. "Marissa, chill out. Just go with the flow." He checked the time, stood up, and got ready to change for work.
"How can I be calm when Bella's marrying a dying man? If it weren't for the Reynolds family's power, we wouldn't be forced into this. No way would I agree! But you! Is Swan Jewelry Company that important? Our daughter is going to the Reynolds family, and who knows what her life will be like there? Will she be bullied?"
"The Reynolds family is huge; they won't mess with Bella. Marissa, stressing too much is pointless. Look at yourself now. I can't just ditch the company. Bella is our daughter; of course, I'm worried too. The Reynolds family has been at it for years. Austin, who was supposed to inherit the Reynolds Group, suddenly had a car accident. It wasn't a coincidence. Naturally, I'm worried about Bella."
Marissa sighed. "It's on us. We gotta use our daughter to seal the deal between Reynolds Group and Swan Jewelry Company.."
Bella's phone was in the kitchen. As she went downstairs to grab it, she overheard her parents' convo.
She stopped, her eyes tearing up as she saw her parents worrying about her.
She got it all too well.
This marriage alliance was something the Swan family couldn't dodge.
No matter what lay ahead, no matter how dangerous the Reynolds family was, she had to nod in agreement.
The Reynolds family was so powerful that crushing Swan Jewelry Company would be a piece of cake.
When Bella was young, she always thought her family life was awesome. Her parents gave her a five-figure allowance every month. Her mom took her to the biggest malls to buy the latest seasonal clothes, with even a simple white T-shirt costing four figures.
She had dozens of bags worth tens of thousands in her closet and never hesitated to buy them.
Although Swan Jewelry Company wasn't huge, it had made significant progress in recent years.
Many wealthy ladies came for custom orders.
The designs were exquisite, and the prices were reasonable. They not only met the high-end demands of wealthy ladies but also catered to the working-class market.
Bella always felt that her life was way better than that of ordinary folks.
Maybe her life had been too smooth before, and she never thought she'd face such a situation.
After Caleb left for the company and Marissa went back to the greenhouse, Bella went to the kitchen, grabbed her phone, took a deep breath, and went upstairs.
She opened her wardrobe, picked out a few dresses, tried them on one by one. In the end, she chose a white dress with pearl designs on the sleeves, neckline, and waist, which made her look elegant and gentle.
It was her first time meeting Cassidy. Although she didn't know what Cassidy was like, at the very least, she wanted to leave a good impression.
At 10 AM, Bella arrived at the Reynolds family on time.
Lucy opened the door. "Ms. Swan, come on in." She quickly sized up Bella, then opened the door and invited her in.
Bella walked in and went to the living room.
"Ms. Swan, please have a seat and chill for a moment. Mrs. Reynolds is still in the study. I'll go get her."
