Chapter 718 Who Are You
Natalie was totally thrown off by Adrian's vibe, leaving her speechless for a sec.
She thought, 'Can I really count on Adrian? If it ever came down to choosing between me and Claire, would he really have my back without a second thought?'
The worry in her eyes started to fade, and she gripped the card in her hand, staying quiet.
Over at the Howard Villa, Alice was jamming on the piano with Claire.
Alice had been shooting a film in Rosewood City, which wa right next to Vachilit. She wrapped up early at 3 PM and had her driver take her back to Vachilit. Tonight was the big Howard family dinner.
Every family dinner, all the Howards showed up.
Tonight, Adrian would be back, too.
Alice didn't know much about the piano, but seeing Claire so into it, she couldn't help but chill out a bit.
"Aunt Claire, thanks for helping me out earlier," Alice said, figuring it was a good place to start.
Claire had just finished a piece and looked up. "For what?"
"You got me that role in One Day. I'm already on set. Thanks, I would've been lost without it," Alice said with a sweet smile.
Claire smiled back. "No need to thank me, we're family. Plus, you're the boss lady of Dynamic Entertainment Media. Any resource from Dynamic is yours for the taking. If you're ever too shy to ask, just come to me, and I'll hook you up."
Alice had something on her mind. "Aunt Claire, I just got back into acting, and people don't take me seriously. I can't land good roles or endorsements. I don't really care about that stuff, but as the Howard family's hostress, having nothing makes people look down on me."
Claire got where Alice was coming from and felt for her.
Alice had always lived the high life.
Claire offered, "I'll call the president of Dynamic Entertainment right now. I remember there's a high-end endorsement; I'll get it sorted for you."
Alice's face lit up. "Thanks."
Claire didn't mind helping Alice out. In fact, it made her feel a bit better, too.
The baby Alice had to abort nine months into her pregnancy was a heavy guilt for Claire.
Claire moved fast and called the head of Dynamic Entertainment.
But when the call got transferred, Claire realized the voice wasn't Lucas.
Claire knew Lucas; she'd met him at the Howard Group's annual meeting.
"I need to speak with Lucas," Claire said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Finnian replied, "Mrs. Howard, Lucas got busted by the cops for embezzlement."
Claire questioned in shock, "What? Who are you then?"
Finnian said calmly, "I'm Finnian, the current president of Dynamic Entertainment. Mrs. Howard, if you need anything, you can talk to me."
Claire mentioned the endorsement for Alice. Finnian said it needed to be discussed. That answer ticked Claire off, and she hung up. She expected her words to be acted on immediately.
Even though Claire didn't have an official role in the Howard Group, she owned five percent of the shares. More importantly, she was Adrian's mom and Joe's wife. The Howard Group rarely ignored her.
Being told by a small-time president that it needed to be discussed felt like a slap in the face.
