Chapter 331 You Deserve the Best
Natalie shook her head. "Mom, where'd you get this info? So, when you go out, it's not just for groceries but to set me up on blind dates? If I were still in college, I'd be a senior. Are you that eager to marry me off? Wouldn't it be better if I stay with you?"
Rosalie sighed, "I just want to see you settled and happy."
Natalie knew Rosalie was worried about her health and wanted Natalie to have someone to rely on. Tears welled up in her eyes.
Rosalie asked, "Who's that friend of yours? He even knows the VP of NexGen Innovations Inc."
Natalie shrugged. "Just a senior from my university."
Rosalie shook her head. "He's impressive, but he's not for you. We can't match up to someone from such a privileged background. We're better off with a simple, honest life."
Cars passed by, the afternoon sun was gentle, and the sunset glowed. Natalie looked up at the sky and nodded slightly.
The taxi arrived, and Natalie helped Rosalie into the car. Watching it merge into traffic, she grabbed her bag, checked the time on her phone, and started walking to the subway station, about ten minutes away.
After a few steps, she heard a car horn behind her.
Turning around, she saw a diamond-blue sports car. The window rolled down, revealing Daniel's face. "Hop in, I'll give you a ride."
Natalie didn't refuse. She got in, and the car merged into traffic. She watched the scenery as they drove onto the Blue Bay Bridge.
Natalie rolled down the window slightly, letting the breeze touch her cheeks. She smoothed her wind-blown hair.
Daniel glanced at the rearview mirror and coughed. "I heard you moved into Blue Mountain Community. How's it there?"
Natalie replied, "It's pretty good."
Daniel smiled, "I'll visit you sometime."
Natalie nodded, "You're always welcome."
Daniel was pleased. "Hold on, I'm going to speed up."
When they arrived at the Imperial Nightclub around 6:30 PM, Natalie got out, gripping the car door. "Thanks for today."
"Thank me for what? It was just a coincidence," Daniel said, looking at her. She stood in the evening breeze, glowing even more as the sky dimmed. She smiled gently, and Daniel's chest tightened. "He's not good enough for you, Natalie. You deserve the best."
Natalie's eyelashes fluttered. "Mr. Murphy, are you kidding?"
Daniel said seriously, "Natalie, you know I never joke about you."
Natalie closed the car door, waved, and walked up the steps.
Daniel watched her until she disappeared into the Imperial Nightclub, then drove off. But he didn't leave; he went to the underground parking lot and booked a private room upstairs.
Natalie changed clothes and went to the second floor with Denise as assigned.
Denise grumbled, "That Emma, who knows what she said to Jason. She's always trying to seduce him. She put us on the second floor. I heard the drink consumption is lower there, and the guests are more demanding and handsy."
Natalie reminded her, "Keep your voice down. Don't let her hear you complaining."
