Chapter 866 Wendy's Regret
There were tons of female celebs in the entertainment biz who branded themselves as natural beauties.
But Wendy? Her natural look was just so-so. Sure, she had good looks and talent, but her skin was super breakout-prone. Wendy even joked that if she didn't get enough sleep, she'd wake up with pimples. To seem more relatable to the public, she even dropped a video on how to quickly fix her skin for the camera after a breakout.
[Isn't it Wendy? Didn't everyone say it was Wendy before?]
[Could it be someone else? No way. My sister works in the industry, and she said Wendy already shot the promo ad.]
[What's going on?]
Meanwhile, at Wendy's villa, she was rubbing her temples, listening to Mira, "Wendy, you were way too impulsive this time. Rebecca already cleared up the plagiarism thing, and now we've lost this endorsement chance. You know I turned down two other international luxury brands for this. We were planning a big partnership with U&M! They were even gonna release a co-branded product with you. Wendy, I'll contact U&M's PR team to see if we can renegotiate."
Wendy stayed quiet, clearly agreeing.
Especially now, with everyone hyped about supporting domestic brands, U&M was killing it. It was the only local brand to get international recognition, beating out foreign luxury brands in design, packaging, after-sales service, and even price. U&M's new fall and winter earrings used freshwater pearls and were priced the same as foreign plastic accessories, with a unique design.
U&M's annual net profit now ranked in the top 100 globally.
Wendy also felt she might've been a bit rash.
Mira quickly dialed Ainsley's number.
"We respect your decision to terminate the contract. Now you wanna talk about renewing it? That's the funniest joke I've heard all year." Ainsley actually laughed out loud. "We've already signed a new spokesperson, and the termination procedures with you are done. Your side still needs to compensate us for certain losses."
After hanging up, Mira knew there was no room for negotiation.
Wendy's face turned a bit pale. She had weathered many storms in the entertainment industry for years. This time, she admitted she initially wanted to minimize the loss and stay far away from plagiarism. Wendy thought she couldn't afford to have her reputation damaged over an endorsement.
Mira said, "It's okay. I'll contact other brands."
Given Wendy's popularity, many brands still wanted to work with her.
But she still felt bummed about the termination with U&M. Plus, Wendy and Rebecca were relatives, and this incident might strain their relationship.
"Find out who U&M's new spokesperson is," Wendy said, wanting to see who dared to take the endorsement she had turned down.
Mira nodded, "Okay."
Natalie signed the endorsement contract.
The plagiarism scandal had been cleared up, and this endorsement opportunity was indeed excellent.
At the same time, a luxury brand she had previously worked with agreed to upgrade her status from ambassador to spokesperson.
Although there was some overlap between the two luxury brands, Heather talked to both, and they didn't conflict. So Natalie could endorse both but wasn't allowed to promote the same type of product.
