Chapter 1062 Invitation to Dinner
Samuel strolled over and clinked glasses with Natalie.
She took a sip and grinned. "Mr. Russell, it's been ages."
Samuel chuckled. "Yeah, I've been tied up with my elder's birthday bash in Novaria. Totally missed your wedding. My bad for not sending my best wishes."
Natalie teased, "And you forgot my wedding gift too."
Samuel laughed. "I'll make it up to you, promise."
Not far away, Juniper was chatting with the third female lead, shooting glances at Samuel and grinding her teeth.
Every actress in the industry envied Natalie.
Natalie had dropped two blockbuster movies, both smashing hits, making her the new box office queen. Plus, she married Adrian, the richest guy around. Adrian wasn't just loaded; he was a total heartthrob. He even graced the cover of a financial magazine once, with his chiseled features and model-like physique. He could easily outshine most male actors in Hollywood.
Juniper's jealousy was written all over her face as she sauntered up to Natalie with a glass of champagne. "Natalie, congrats! Your movie's a massive hit, and now you're the top female star at the box office."
"Thanks," Natalie replied coolly.
Seeing Natalie's indifferent attitude, Juniper snorted. During the group photo, she made sure to stand in the middle. Though it annoyed many, they just wanted to get the photo over with. No matter how fancy her dress was, the focus was always on the leads.
After the interview, Natalie and Matthew planned to grab dinner, and Matthew invited Samuel too.
Samuel seemed keen to avoid any gossip since Natalie was now married to Adrian. Plus, both Samuel and Natalie were super famous, making them prime targets for paparazzi. Even though they were just friends, the tabloids loved to spin stories.
Matthew also invited Oscar, making it a group of four.
They picked a Vistalia-style restaurant.
Matthew grinned. "This place is owned by a buddy of mine, and I have shares here, so dinner's on me. Eat up!"
Suddenly, Natalie noticed a flash in the distance.
Samuel frowned.
Matthew sighed. "These paparazzi are relentless, huh? They follow us everywhere, even here."
They had come to Matthew's private restaurant, but the paparazzi still managed to tail them.
The restaurant had a view of the open sea, so the windows were usually open, but the paparazzi used a drone to snap pictures. Matthew had to close the windows and send the bodyguards out to handle it.
Matthew said, "We're all in this together, so let's skip the formalities. Working with Natalie twice has been a blast. This time, 'Rising Winds' is my most ambitious mystery film. The original novel is top-notch, so the success isn't a shock. But with Natalie and Samuel's performances, the film's reputation soared. I've always believed that as actors and actresses, we need to protect our reputations. Same goes for us screenwriters and directors. I've been swamped with 'Yesterday's Mist' lately. I just made the jump from screenwriter to director and producer, and man, it's a ton of work."
