Chapter 431 Conversation
Natalie was chillin' next to Samantha, who was holding Natalie's fake phone and chatting with Ruby. "Ruby, girl, we've been tight forever. We know each other inside out. So, did you really hit up the movies with Ethan? You into him? C'mon, Ruby, spill the tea. I need the deets."
The phone wasn't even on, but hey, actors gotta make it look legit.
The scene was all about Catherine inviting Luna for a stroll in the park and a deep convo. Catherine brought up Ruby, and Luna, trying to smooth things over, called Ruby and handed the phone to Catherine. Now Catherine was chatting with Ruby.
The morning breeze was just right.
There were a bunch of tourists snapping pics nearby. They weren't super close, but with a good zoom, they could catch the actors' faces and lip movements.
"Who are these people? I don't recognize any of 'em," A middle-aged woman said that. Yeah, for her age, these new faces in the biz were a mystery.
Natalie and Samantha weren't big names yet; they were just starting out. Even the younger crowd didn't know them.
A young woman who was all over Facebook said, "I think that's Samantha. She's the main chick in this show. Saw her trending on Facebook. She's pretty cute."
"Is the lead actress the one in the light blue jeans? Dang, she's got legs for days."
That was Natalie.
The young woman shook her head. "Nah, the lead actress's the one in the pink dress."
"This is the lead? She's so basic. Isn't this a teen drama? I thought the one in jeans was the lead."
Another girl chimed in, "I dunno, but it's kinda cool to bump into a film crew at North Hill Park. Even if they're not big stars, it's still fun. Maybe I can get an autograph. The girl in jeans is pretty cute."
"Is the girl in the dress forgetting her lines? She's been quiet for a while."
"Looks like it."
On set.
Director Connor looked pissed. He yelled, "Cut!"
He got up. "Stop shooting. Samantha, go learn your lines."
After a bunch of interruptions, the shoot was dragging. Samantha looked annoyed too. She didn't head to the car but plopped down nearby, grabbed the script, and started memorizing. She glanced up and saw Natalie chatting with Connor not far away. Natalie never seemed to mess up and was now all buddy-buddy with Connor. Samantha felt overshadowed and bit her lip.
On set, she couldn't lash out at anyone else, so she snapped at Heather, who was standing nearby. "You're gonna let me bake in this sun? Where's the water, and where's some shade?"
Samantha had a personal assistant who was a relative, so all her anger went to the executive agent, Heather.
Heather quickly brought water and held up an umbrella, sighing to herself. Her idol was Mindy, and she had joined Dynamic Entertainment Media to learn from the best. But now she was stuck serving a newbie fresh out of school and getting yelled at all the time.
She had Samantha's back, but Samantha was always bossing her around.
She had told Samantha last night to memorize her lines for today ASAP.
