Chapter 348 No Need to Call Me That
[Victoria Richardson, a famous actress, is giving a lecture on acting this weekend at the Vachilit Film Institute.]
Victoria, a renowned Best Actress, retired from the spotlight years ago. Now nearing 60, she has countless fans and numerous awards. She stepped behind the scenes at 40 and has produced over 40 films and TV shows, including the hit series "Legend."
Natalie really wanted to go but didn't have the qualifications.
She put down her phone, grabbed her notebook, and started browsing the web. Suddenly, her phone buzzed. It was a message from Samuel.
[Do you want to attend Ms. Richardson's acting seminar?]
Natalie replied: [How did you know?]
After a few minutes with no response, she put her phone down. She was already surprised Samuel had messaged her. Who would've thought she even had his contact info, considering she was just a stand-in?
She figured Samuel was just making a casual remark.
She started tidying up her room. Suddenly, her phone rang. She was halfway through changing her bed sheets. She put down what she was holding, walked over, and picked up her phone. It was an unfamiliar number from another city.
She hung up immediately.
But two minutes later, the caller tried again. Persistent.
Natalie thought it was a sales call.
She answered, "Hello, I don't need any products, please stop calling..."
"Uh, it's me, Samuel." A pleasant male voice came through.
Natalie was stunned, then apologized, "Sorry about that."
Samuel said, "I should apologize. I was shooting a commercial, got caught up with the brand reps, and forgot to reply."
Natalie was curious. "Mr. Russell, how did you get my number?"
"Your Facebook account," Samuel said.
Natalie smiled.
Samuel continued, "Do you want to attend Ms. Richardson's lecture? Saturday at 2 PM at the Vachilit Film Institute. I'll arrange it for you."
"Okay, thank you." Natalie didn't refuse.
But how did Samuel know she wanted to go? "Mr. Russell, how did you know I wanted to attend?"
"You liked the post I shared," Samuel replied.
"Thank you very much," Natalie said.
"You're welcome," Samuel replied.
Natalie was about to hang up but felt it might be rude since Samuel had helped her. She put the phone aside, waiting for him to hang up first. Two minutes later, the call was still connected.
Natalie was confused and anxious. "Mr. Russell, are you still there?"
"No need to call me that," Samuel chuckled. "Ms. Teeger."
"If there's nothing else, I'll hang up now," Natalie said, and after hearing a response, she hung up.
Samuel was quite the gentleman, and she really owed him a favor.
At a high-end commercial shoot location, Samuel put down his phone, smiled, and handed it to his executive manager, Jessica Rogers.
Jessica, standing nearby, asked, "Samuel, what made you so happy?"
"An interesting girl," Samuel replied.
"It's the first time I've heard you describe a girl like that," Jessica said.
