Chapter 295 Samuel
Samuel said, "Ms. Teeger, what a coincidence."
Natalie looked up from her script to see Samuel in front of her, dressed in a white tracksuit. He was tall, lean, and handsome, with a poised presence that made his slim frame look anything but frail.
She remembered him. "Mr. Russell."
Samuel nodded. "When you're acting, don't be nervous. Just be natural and relaxed in front of the camera. Immerse yourself in the character, no matter their traits. If you can do that, you've nailed it. Let the audience judge the rest."
"Thank you, Mr. Russell." It was Natalie's first time acting, and she was definitely nervous.
Especially acting opposite Samuel, with professional cameras and a seasoned actor, it was hard not to feel the pressure.
Samuel's voice was gentle when he spoke to her. Natalie was a bit surprised. She was just a stand-in, but Samuel didn't look down on her. He pointed out a few issues with her acting.
Natalie nodded, feeling a bit more confident. "Thanks a lot, Mr. Russell."
Samuel smiled. "No need to be so formal. Also, you're playing a pregnant woman, so when you're chasing me, don't walk too fast."
Natalie had overlooked that detail.
Nearby, Nora was touching up her makeup.
She glanced at Samuel and frowned. Her assistant said, "Samuel's really kind, giving acting tips to a stand-in and even acting with her."
Nora applied her lipstick. "He's just being nice, helping a junior."
But Nora kept sneaking glances at Samuel through her mirror. She had worked hard to get this role to partner with him, but he had never given her such pointers.
Even though she didn't need much guidance, a chat would have been nice. She had tried talking to Samuel several times, but he always kept it brief and then got back to acting. After two months of filming together, they had hardly talked about anything else.
Now, seeing him chat with a stand-in made Nora uncomfortable.
"Alright, scene 129, take 5."
"Ready. Action."
This scene was between Natalie and Samuel.
"Amy, I'm your brother-in-law. Stop using these useless tricks."
"Do you really think she likes you? She's just after your family's connections and power. Can't you see that my sister is playing you?"
"I love her no matter what. Amy, your attempts to sow discord won't work on me." He glanced at Amy's belly. "When the child is born, you better return the $600,000 you embezzled from the company. Otherwise, you'll pay for it. I'm not your sister; I won't protect you!"
Natalie's eyelashes trembled. She bit her lip, her eyes clear, showing a mix of grievance and mockery. "Really?"
Amy was a malicious character, but Natalie conveyed a sense of helplessness and regret. Her clear eyes were captivating, and Samuel actually paused for two seconds.
He sighed and said to Kevin, "Sorry, my fault. Let's do it again."
Kevin quickly said, "Actually, it was great, Samuel. Don't be so hard on yourself."
But Kevin was shocked inside.
Samuel had been in the industry for seven years and had won numerous awards. For the first time, he couldn't keep up with a newcomer, a stand-in with no formal training.
This really surprised Kevin. "Okay, let's do another take."
