Chapter 1342 Isn't Here Good?
The South District alone is as big as a city.
And here, it stands as an independent nation between Aquilonia and Solstice.
Rachel remembered only being on the boat for a few hours. How could she have traveled so far?
Rachel furrowed her brow slightly. "What about Suncrest City? Do you know Suncrest City? How far is Vachilit from here?"
Elmer thought for a moment. "You'd take a cruise to Meadowbrook City first, then to Suncrest City. It takes two days and a night. Flying is the fastest way."
"How could it be so far? I... I remember being on the boat for just a few hours before I ended up here."
He asked softly, "Are you sure you were on the boat the whole time?"
Rachel was stunned, her eyes wide with confusion.
Slowly, she shook her head.
Knowing Elmer couldn't see, she added, "I don't know. I was pretty out of it at the time."
She vaguely remembered someone helping her up.
Considering the distance, Rachel deduced that those two people must have taken her on a plane. The plane's speed would have brought her to a coastal area in a few hours.
From there, they must have transferred her to a small cruise ship, where she spent a few more hours before arriving here.
Thinking about this, Rachel's heart sank.
If that was the case, it would be hard for her family to find her.
Moreover, Rachel hadn't realized that this place was Redwood Isle Waters, an independent territory with no president, only four regions, each ruled by its own leader. Isaac managed the South District, the most economically powerful area.
Here, Isaac's word was law.
In this place, the climate was mild year-round, with only spring and summer.
The South District was backed by a forested island, rich in various plants and economic resources. But Isaac's ambitions extended beyond that. He had allied with the North District, creating a divide between the North-South alliance and the East-West regions.
Rachel looked at Elmer in front of her. In the sunlight, his face had a slight blush. The sun was bright, and his features were as delicate as if crafted by a master. His pale hand rested on Rachel's arm, guiding him.
With such a handsome face, how could he have such an illness?
Rachel waved her fingers lightly in front of Elmer's eyes.
Immediately, Elmer grabbed her hand.
Rachel's eyes widened. "You can see?"
"The sunlight isn't too strong right now, so I'm not completely blind," Elmer said, holding her fingers.
"What are you trying to test? Don't think you can escape just because I'm blind. Everyone here knows you're my future wife. No one would dare defy my father. No one would dare take you off this island."
Rachel pursed her lips. "You sound pretty proud of that. Do you know your father is breaking the law? I'm missing, and my parents and grandparents must be worried sick. Even if you won't let me leave, at least let me call home to let them know I'm safe. I can't be stuck on this island forever."
She felt a bit down. Though she hadn't been here long, Isaac hadn't mistreated her. Even this blind guy in front of her hadn't forced himself on her at night. The servants always asked what she liked to eat at mealtimes.
But no matter how nice this place was, it wasn't home.
"Isn't it nice here?" Elmer said calmly.
