Chapter 247 Do You Have Someone You Like?

Bella asked, "Mr. Murphy, it's rare to see you asking for help. What's going on?"

Daniel replied, "Well, Natalie wants to move out, and you know how she is—she's very frugal. I'm worried she might end up in a place that's both unsafe and unsuitable just because of cost. I bought an apartment building and I'm offering her one of the units at the lowest possible rent. But I need you to keep it a secret. I'm afraid she won't take it if she finds out it's from me."

"So, you need my help?" Bella knew Daniel liked Natalie. "Are you serious, Mr. Murphy?"

Bella knew Natalie well and didn't want her to get hurt. Daniel was known for having many girlfriends and being a bit of a playboy.

Daniel said sincerely, "Bella, I really like her."

At 3 PM, Bella went to Natalie's place.

Natalie was packing books into boxes. Bella walked in. "You're really moving?"

Natalie replied, "Yeah, I had a falling out with Curtis and the others. I've wanted to leave for a while."

She looked at Bella. "My brother and father's deaths weren't accidents. They died instead of Curtis."

Curtis was supposed to die that day.

Natalie explained everything to Bella, who clenched her fists in anger. "That's outrageous! I can’t believe Curtis could be like that. He always seemed so kind and approachable!"

Bella knew the deaths of Stanley and Ryan were a deep pain for Rosalie and Natalie. The loss of two close family members was devastating.

Natalie had always respected Curtis, treating him like an uncle. Even when Avery bullied her, she wouldn't complain to Curtis to avoid straining their relationship.

Bella blurted out, "How could this happen! Curtis always seemed so kind; you respected him so much. Doesn't he feel guilty? No, someone like him wouldn't. Sharing a bed with Avery for decades, how good could he be!"

Bella put down her bag and helped Natalie pack. "When are you moving out? Found a place yet?"

Natalie sighed and shook her head. She'd searched online extensively, but either the prices were too high or the locations were too remote.

Bella suggested, "Why don't you stay at my place? My mom likes you, and we have plenty of rooms."

Natalie shook her head. Staying for a few days was fine, but she didn't want to disrupt Bella's life long-term. Bella remembered what Daniel had said. She didn't want to help Daniel, a notorious playboy, get closer to Natalie. But Natalie needed somewhere to stay.

Bella asked, "Natalie, what do you think of Daniel?"

"Why are you asking?" Natalie stacked some boxes. She had finished packing her books, and her clothes were already in suitcases. Only some daily necessities were left. She grabbed a paper bag and started packing those too.

Bella said, "Just curious. He's been pursuing you for a while."

"We're not in the same league."

Bella retorted, "Why not? You're beautiful. It's normal for him to like you."

Natalie looked at Bella helplessly. "He's been good to me. He took me to Pearl Island for a vacation not long ago. But liking someone depends on feelings, you know? It's that kind of feeling where just seeing the person makes your heart race and your face flush..." Adrian's cool eyes flashed in Natalie's mind. She paused, pressing her lips together.

"What feeling?" Bella leaned in closer, grabbing her hand. "Oh my, Natalie, you're blushing! Do you have someone you like?"
