Chapter 1259 At Dusk

"If you have somewhere else you'd rather go, just let me know." Adrian could only think of this for now.

Although he wasn't completely clueless about women's thoughts, he had never pursued a girl before. He had even forgotten how he used to interact with Natalie.

After all, it was always other socialites and heiresses pursuing Adrian.

"This place was designed by me. I came to Suncrest City three years ago, around Christmas. A friend of mine is the manager of the Starlight Hotel. At that time, the Starlight Hotel under the Howard Group had just been established. This place is quite special."

"You designed this?" Natalie glanced around. It was indeed minimalist and very tasteful.

"Adrian, what movie are we going to watch?"

"The next movie you're involved with is directed by Cassius Blackwood. How about we check out one of his films? They're all pretty good."

"How do you know the next movie I'm involved with is directed by Cassius?"

But then Natalie thought, as the president of the Howard Group, it would be easy for him to find out her upcoming projects.

"Let's watch 'After the Drink' then." Natalie had seen clips of this movie online and liked it.

Coincidentally, Heather mentioned that Cassius's new film, 'At Dusk,' is a suspense romance movie.

Natalie had previously acted in a suspense film directed by Oscar. Since that film became a hit, many similar projects had come her way, but she had turned them all down.

Unless there was a better script with a more groundbreaking plot, she wouldn't take on another suspense thriller.

When the script for 'At Dusk' was sent to her email, Natalie read it and hesitated. After reading the script, she had a few conversations with Cassius.

This film was indeed different from previous suspense thrillers; it was a suspense romance. Every character in the film was an accomplice to the murderer, and none of them were innocent.

The ending for the male and female leads was open-ended, revealing the final murderer.

The overall plot was refreshing, but at the same time, she was also in talks with other films, and Esme had contacted her as well.

Natalie was hesitant and didn't respond immediately.

Cassius wasn't a top-tier director; he was one of the niche suspense romance directors.

His films received mixed reviews—those who liked them really liked them, while those who didn't found them too confusing and hard to understand.

For example, in 'After the Drink,' after watching the film, one might feel that the title had nothing to do with the movie.

The film tells the story of an unknown actress's mysterious death.

The plot has large gaps and isn't densely packed, and it doesn't reveal how the actress died. There's only a medical report stating that she died of a heart attack.

There were several suspects.

The assistant who made her drink.

The manager who made her stay up late for work.

The boyfriend who broke up with her.

The resources that were taken from her.

The wealthy businessman who took her to a hotel and assaulted her.

She ultimately died of a heart attack, and her body wasn't discovered at home for a week. The overall plot was very depressing and dark.

The unknown actress's favorite song was 'After the Drink,' and when she died, this song was playing on her phone.

So the film was named after it, symbolizing her life.

Although Cassius's previous films were niche, they generally had good reputations.

Only 'After the Drink' received mixed reviews. It grossed less than $50 million in its first week and garnered a lot of negative feedback.

Many people felt deceived, saying they had paid to watch a movie they couldn't understand.
