Chapter 813 Cherishing Her

Natalie grinned. Lauchelle's metaphor was kinda abrupt, but it hit her right in the feels.

Adrian was definitely a man who kept his emotions on lockdown.

Most of the time, she couldn't read him at all.

Natalie knew Adrian liked her, but she had no clue he was head over heels for her.

She bit her lip, thinking about Alice's pregnancy, and gave a bitter smile. "Really?"

Lauchelle nodded seriously. "Absolutely, Natalie. Do you know how many people try to buy this estate every year? Just before Mr. Howard came to me, the Murphy family offered $5 billion for it, but I turned them down. Mr. Murphy just wanted it to show off. But Mr. Howard is different, and so are you. You both genuinely love this place."

Lauchelle went on, "The Howard family is powerful, but I didn't cave in to that. It was Mr. Howard who moved me. He said he, like me, has a woman he loves, but his family arranged for him to marry someone else. He was torn between family pressure and the woman he truly loves. He said the woman he loves also loves this place and hoped I'd consider it. Mr. Howard said he wanted to give you the best things and didn't want your story to end like mine and hers. I was touched and agreed to sell this villa to him at the original price, as a gift to you."

Natalie was stunned. Her eyelashes fluttered, and her eyes got a little red.

She thought, 'Did Adrian really say all that? Does he love me as much as I love him?'

Lauchelle saw she needed a moment to take it all in. He smiled and had a servant bring up coffee and desserts.

He said, "Natalie, you should try this dessert. It was her favorite. I learned to make it after a long time, but she was already gone. In this life, I have no fate with her."

"I can make desserts too. My grandmother taught me." Natalie took a bite. The dessert was soft, melted in her mouth, with just the right sweetness and a hint of cherry blossom.

Natalie smiled. "It's delicious. If I get the chance, I'd love for you to try my desserts, too."

"Sure. I'm looking forward to that day." Lauchelle seemed genuinely excited.

Natalie smiled and decided she'd make some tomorrow and bring it to him.

She asked, "Lauchelle, you mentioned earlier that you wanted to leave here. When are you planning to go?"

Lauchelle replied, "Oh, after Ms. Henderson's banquet, once everyone here is back to work and we've finished the paperwork, I'll be leaving. In the next few days, I'll be here saying my final goodbyes to this place. I hope my wife and I can be happy, and I also hope my first love and her lover will be happy."

Natalie nodded.

Lauchelle raised his hand and solemnly handed a document to Natalie. "Natalie, I hope you can sign this. This is a gift from Mr. Howard to you, and I hope it can carry your happy memories together."

This time, Natalie signed her name.

Her handwriting was neat and elegant.

The butler and lawyer took it and told Natalie they'd notify her in advance for the next steps in the paperwork process.
