Chapter 272 Hospital

"Rosalie, I found you a place to stay. It's spacious, and I've arranged for a better doctor. I'll repay everything I owe you," Curtis said earnestly.

"No need. I don't want to see any of you anymore," Rosalie turned him down immediately.

Curtis hesitated, "Rosalie, is Natalie our..."

Rosalie didn't answer, just stared at Curtis. After a moment, she called out, "Natalie."

Natalie came in, glanced at Curtis, then helped Rosalie out.

After they left, Curtis sighed deeply. His assistant, Alex Walker, walked in, "Mr. Cullen."

"Alex, these past few years have been tough," Curtis said, sighing.

Alex knew what he meant. Curtis had been suffering since the car accident involving Stanley and Ryan.

Curtis looked older. He thought talking to Rosalie might ease his sufferings.

He knew Rosalie resented him.

After college, he wanted to start a business. Avery's wealthy family had supported him. He liked Rosalie, but when Avery, who looked like Rosalie and had a better background, appeared, he leaned towards Avery.

He broke up with Rosalie and got together with Avery.

He didn't know Rosalie and Avery were cousins.

Rosalie even attended his and Avery's wedding. He never wanted to recall that scene.

But after the wedding, he couldn't forget Rosalie. Avery looked like her, but their personalities were different. He liked the innocent and kind Rosalie.

In a blink of an eye, half his life had passed.

There were three things he dared not recall.

First, Rosalie's sorrowful eyes at his wedding.

Second, the day before Rosalie married Stanley, she came to him. Her eyes seemed to say if he asked, she'd call off the wedding, but he stayed silent.

Third, Stanley and Ryan died in his place.

He felt guilty towards Rosalie but wouldn't change a thing.

Natalie took Rosalie to the hospital. Today's doctor was Jagger. Natalie paused as she entered the consultation room.

Jagger looked up and adjusted his glasses. The sunlight made his white coat glow.

Rosalie spoke first, "Dr. Kamel, you're on duty today?"

Jagger stood up, "Aunt Rosalie, please sit. Where do you feel uncomfortable?"

"I'm fine. Natalie insisted on bringing me here. I didn't want to come; it's expensive."

Jagger wrote some tests and handed them to Natalie, "Go to the second floor for blood and urine tests. There shouldn't be a line. The ultrasound will require waiting. Come back in the afternoon with the results. Remember to get lots of rest at home after that."

Rosalie smiled, "Thank you, Dr. Kamel."

Natalie added softly, "Thank you."

Jagger clenched his fist slightly, "You're welcome."

As Natalie helped Rosalie out, Jagger took a few steps forward and called out, "Natalie."

Natalie stopped.

Jagger asked, "I didn't see you at the gathering last night. I called, but you didn't answer."

Natalie smiled, "There were too many people. I might have forgotten my phone. You were in the private room; you could have asked the waiter."

Jagger's voice was low, "Didn't you say I could get a discount if I found you?"

Natalie was taken aback.

"Oh, right, sorry. I was too busy and forgot. Next time."

With that, she helped Rosalie out.

Jagger's eyes showed a hint of disappointment.
