Chapter 564 The Person in the Photo Isn't Me

In Lounge 2, Rosalie's eyes got all teary at the sight of Natalie. "Natalie, you good? Am I messing things up for you? I know it's on me. If it wasn't for me, you'd be living it up right now. You've given up way too much for me."

Natalie shot Rosalie a cold look. She seemed pretty chill despite Rosalie's freak-out. Rosalie knew things between them would never be the same. She wiped her tears away. The nasty stuff online felt like a tidal wave, drowning Natalie. Seeing Natalie was okay, Rosalie felt a bit better.

Natalie said coolly, "Why are you here?"

Rosalie answered, "I just missed you and was worried. Wanted to check on you."

"I'm fine. You can head back. I'll have the bodyguard take you home." Natalie turned to leave, hand on the door handle. "Don't come looking for me again. If you need something, have the nanny hit up my agent. I'll get back to you."

Rosalie watched her go. "I didn't know if you'd be here. I was just too worried. Last night, I saw those nasty comments online and felt awful. Alice called, saying she was worried and that you'd be at Dynamic Entertainment Media today. So I thought I'd come and find you."

Natalie's face went ice-cold.

She swerved back to Rosalie, her expression mocking. "Alice told you?"

Rosalie, scared things would get worse between Natalie and Alice, quickly said, "Don't blame Alice. I asked her. Alice cares about you too."

"How ridiculous! Alice cares about me? Mrs. Teeger, you call her so sweetly. I forgot, Alice is your real daughter. Of course, you believe her."

Rosalie said, "Natalie, I'm really worried about you."

Natalie asked, "For what? That I'll get trashed by online comments? That I can't handle it and will do something stupid just like you did?"

Despite Natalie's harsh words, Rosalie still said humbly, "Natalie, it's all my fault. I let Alice take over your life. I know I messed up. I'll fix it. I know you've given up so much for my illness over the years." Thinking of those photos online, Rosalie started crying again. "It's all my fault. If it wasn't for my illness, you wouldn't have had to sell your body for money."

Natalie's eyes widened. She took a deep breath, feeling like her chest was gonna burst. She surveyed Rosalie, her gray hairs peeking through, her face gaunt and pallid from her disease, her thin frame, and her worn-out clothes.

Seeing Rosalie keep apologizing, Natalie suddenly didn't know what she felt.

However, it bugged her.

"You're overthinking it. It wasn't to save you," Natalie said, "Mrs. Teeger, listen. The woman in the photos isn't me; it's your real daughter, Alice!"

Rosalie trembled violently. She stared wide-eyed at Natalie.
