Chapter 479 Visiting Alice

The Cullen Mansion.

Alice was takin' her sweet time comin' down the stairs, clutchin' the handrail like it was her lifeline. A servant rushed over, all flustered, "Ms. Cullen, chill, no need to rush."

Alice had been stuck at home for over a month since she got outta the hospital. Her cast was off, but she still didn't trust her foot, and her arm was barely functional, making it a pain to hold anything.

She was bored outta her mind this whole month.

And Adrian? That dude hadn't shown his face at the Cullen Mansion even once, which had Alice fuming!

The servant helped Alice down, but she tripped and shoved the servant away, snapping, "Useless! If I fall, you gonna take the blame?"

The servant got even more careful.

Once she was down, Alice plopped into a wheelchair and rolled herself outta the living room to the greenhouse.

The servant, Amy Smith, sighed and headed to the kitchen, where Lizzy was busy with veggies. Lizzy looked up and asked, "What's up?"

Amy lowered her voice, grumbling, "Ms. Cullen is impossible. I was super careful helping her down the stairs. She refused the elevator and insisted on walking. Almost fell and then blamed me."

Lizzy was prepping dinner and was a bit stressed. The chef was out, so she had to cook. Lizzy worried Alice and Avery wouldn't like her food.

Curtis was chill and just cared if the food was good, but Alice and Avery? Different story.

Lizzy washed the veggies and said, "I'm thinking of quitting."

Amy was shocked. "What? Lizzy, where you planning to go?"

Lizzy had been with the Cullens forever. Her uncle drove for Curtis, and her aunt ran a housekeeping gig. Lizzy came with her aunt and had been there for years. The pay was good, and the living conditions were decent, but lately, Alice's mood swings were off the charts.

Including Renee and the chef, there were five servants at the Cullen Mansion.

The chef was on leave.

Renee did zilch and just bossed everyone around.

Lizzy, Amy, and another older maid handled cleaning the three-story house, the garden, and the underground garage—a hefty load for a 3,000-square-foot villa.

On top of that, Renee found endless reasons to dock their pay.

Deductions for not washing dishes right.

Deductions for dust in the corners.

The dishes were done by the dishwasher, which Lizzy couldn't control, and she cleaned the corners daily. Renee was just being a pain.

Lizzy said, "Isn't it the same everywhere? I think other employers are way easier than Mrs. Cullen and Ms. Cullen. At least, I wouldn't have to deal with a bossy housekeeper like Renee."

Amy nodded and after a bit said, "I saw Rosalie at the supermarket a few days ago. She looked pretty healthy."

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Both Amy and Lizzy had wet hands. The doorbell rang for a few seconds before Amy quickly wiped her hands, muttering, "Renee does nothing. Thinks she's the owner here?"

She rushed to open the door.

Outside, Natalie stood there, holding a bouquet of carnations in one hand and a carton of milk in the other, looking like she was visiting a patient.

Amy walked up and realized, "Natalie, it's you?"

Natalie smiled and said, "I'm here to visit Ms. Cullen."
