Chapter 297 Knowing Each Other for a Long Time

Half a month had passed, and Alice's foot was healed. She asked Karen to get her back on set, but found her scenes were now out of sync.

Rodolfo chuckled, "Ms. Cullen, your foot still needs recovery. We need to wrap up the show smoothly next month. If you're up for it, we need to shoot all night tonight."

Before Alice could reply, Karen interjected, "Our contract covers overnight shoots for night scenes, not regular ones. This needs advance notice."

Rodolfo, looking awkward, said, "Ms. Cullen, you've been resting for half a month without prior notice. We need to catch up." He turned to Karen, "Karen, don't blame me. Talk to Mr. Alexander. I'm just the messenger. You can choose not to shoot, but we'll cut those scenes."

Alice gritted her teeth. "Alright, I get it."

Karen wanted to say something, but Alice waved her off. "I'll shoot until midnight."

Karen said, "Alice, you need proper rest..."

Rodolfo shook his head, hearing Alice's words. She actually thought the set was a place to rest!

So what if Alice was a socialite? When the show aired, the audience wouldn't care who she was.

In the editing room, Kevin watched the screen.

The footage from the past few days was roughly edited, and he nodded in satisfaction.

The editor, Sophia Ruth, said, "This actor is good, very lively. With proper training, she could be great." Natalie and Samuel's scenes were natural, and she added depth to a two-faced character.

Kevin lit a cigarette. "She's Alice's stand-in."

Sophia took a cigarette from Kevin's pack, took a drag, and squinted. "Why do you still like this brand? It's harsh." Despite that, she took another drag. "I can tell. This girl's eyes are different from Alice's—lively, pure, like a clear lake. Even though they look alike, I can tell them apart. This stand-in makes Alice seem ordinary."

Kevin tapped his cigarette ash and instructed, "Make sure your team is careful with the final cut. Don't let too many obvious close-ups appear."

Sophia said, "Got it. With Dynamic Entertainment's investment, we wouldn't dare mess up."

Kevin and Sophia were old partners. Hearing this, Kevin smiled. "Thanks in advance. Once the shoot is over, I'll treat you to dinner. Just one more month, let's all work hard."

Sophia replied, "No need to remind me, I know."

Curious, Sophia asked, "Kevin, where did you find such a perfect stand-in? She looks so much like Alice. If I weren't watching the footage every day, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart."

Kevin replied, "Alice found her herself."

Kevin didn't leave the editing room. Sophia's fingers rested on his shoulder, soft and delicate. They quickly embraced each other knowingly. On the sofa in the editing room, their bodies entwined. Sophia lay on his shoulder. "Kevin, how long have we known each other?"

Kevin said, "Since college."

Sophia nodded thoughtfully. "That's a long time."

Kevin responded, "Yeah."
