Chapter 1180 The Unpredictability of Fate

Natalie gave a brief response.

Suddenly, the sound of a little girl crying reached her ears.

Natalie gripped her phone tightly, looking at a little girl who had appeared in her line of sight, along with the busy emergency room nurses and doctors.

It was then that Natalie noticed three ambulances parked at the entrance, their blue lights flashing.

The atmosphere instantly became tense and urgent as doctors and nurses pushed stretchers to receive the injured.

She vaguely heard that there had been a car accident on the road, with two cars colliding and injuring several people.

The little girl was holding a doll in her hands, crying continuously, helpless and scared.

Natalie ended the call and stood up, "Come here, come to me."

The girl seemed to hear someone calling her and cautiously walked over, sobbing.

Natalie reached out and gently wiped the dust off the girl's face, her voice soft, "What's your name, and how old are you?"

"Six, my name is Poppy."

"My name is Natalie."

Poppy had a few abrasions on her body, which didn't seem serious as the doctors hadn't had time to treat them.

The emergency room suddenly became like a lit fuse, with doctors and nurses urgently checking the conditions of the car accident victims.

Poppy, with red eyes, looked fearfully at one of the ambulances.

Natalie knew that Poppy's family might be in the middle of being rescued.

The car accident happened suddenly and unexpectedly. She could understand such feelings of panic, fear, and terror, as she had experienced them herself.

She gently hugged Poppy, reaching out to stroke her hair.

"It will be okay, everything will be okay."

"Natalie, will my mom and dad wake up?"

"They will, they definitely will."

"Natalie, I still have my brother's doll. He will be happy to see it when he wakes up."

"Yes, so Poppy, you need to keep this doll safe for your brother and wait for them to wake up."

The most cruel thing in this world is watching your loved ones lie unconscious in front of you while you remain unharmed. Watching them leave one by one, while you have to bear the pain alone.

The girl in front of her was so young, only six years old, and her family had been in a car accident. How would she live in the future?

Natalie hugged the girl, hoping to give her some strength.

"Poppy, you are Poppy, right?" A nurse-like person walked over and looked at Natalie, "Are you Poppy's family?"

"No, I'm also a patient here. I just happened to see this girl crying."

The nurse sighed, "This girl is so pitiful. She was the only one unharmed in the car, which is a miracle. Her mom, dad, and brother are all being rescued."

The nurse said to Poppy, "Poppy, don't run around. Your grandparents will be here soon."

Poppy nodded.

She obediently sat on a bench, tightly holding the dirty doll in her arms.

With people coming and going in front of her, Natalie knew that waiting was the longest time, waiting for a result, waiting for someone to wake up.

Waiting for hope.

Adrian arrived at the emergency room after paying the fees, "Let's go."

He glanced at Natalie, ready to carry her.

Natalie stood up, "I'm fine, I just twisted my ankle. I can walk."

Natalie looked at the girl beside her, "Poppy, I'm leaving. Everything will be okay."

Poppy nodded, choking back tears.

Adrian's gaze swept over the girl's face, connecting it to the tense situation with the ambulances and nurses outside, and he could roughly guess what had happened.
