Chapter 318 Mysterious Figure
Susan balanced the tray, standing on tiptoe, peering into the distance.
The staff elevator was down for ten minutes, so the waiters were using the stairs.
After about two minutes, a man in a black shirt, surrounded by bodyguards, got on the elevator. He wore a baseball cap, making it hard to see his face clearly. But Susan knew it was him. It had to be.
A waitress asked, "Susan, what are you doing? Hurry up, or the customers will complain! Do you want your bonus next month or not?"
"Yeah, I do," Susan replied casually.
But she didn't move, waiting until the elevator came back down. When some staff got on, she lowered her eyes in disappointment, having only caught a distant glimpse.
"Susan, what are you staring at? So lost in thought." Vivian walked over, patting her shoulder. Seeing Susan's gaze fixed on the elevator, she looked too. It was just the elevator, nothing special.
Susan replied, "Just now, some people walked by."
Vivian was puzzled. "Susan, you've worked here for ages. People come and go all the time. What's the big deal?"
"You don't get it," Susan said, looking at Vivian dreamily.
Few knew the Boss was coming today; Susan had overheard it by accident.
"Vivian, can you cover for me? I suddenly have a stomachache and need to go to the restroom," Susan said, handing the tray to Vivian. Their sections were connected, and if it wasn't too busy, Vivian could handle it alone. "Remember that pendant you had your eye on when we went shopping? I'll get it for you next week. Just help me out tonight." With that, Susan quickly headed upstairs.
Vivian watched her go. "You... alright then."
That pendant cost over a thousand dollars. Vivian couldn't understand why Susan was acting so strangely tonight. But Susan's family was loaded. Shaking her head, Vivian walked towards the wine cellar.
Susan arrived on the 9th floor, the most mysterious part of the Imperial Nightclub, where the Boss's office was.
Only Jason and a few others had seen the Boss. Even Melody and Emma hadn't met him.
Susan reached the 9th floor, but security was tight, and she couldn't get through. She didn't want to leave without seeing him; she had to see his face.
It had to be him!
9th floor, CEO's office.
The office was dim, windows closed, gray curtains drawn tight.
Jason bowed his head. "Boss, I didn't know you were coming. You didn't give any notice, so I could prepare to welcome you."
The man on the dark brown leather sofa exuded a powerful aura. He was very young, contrary to rumors. In fact, he was extremely young.
His skin was pale, almost sickly, but he didn't look weak. One of his eyes had a light gray iris, while the other was normal.
His nose was high, his features chiseled, and his short hair gave him a rugged look.
The man asked coldly, "Are you saying I need to inform you before I come here?"
"No, that's not what I meant." Jason immediately lowered his head, the powerful presence making him tense and even tremble. His somewhat plump body shook, making his fat jiggle oddly.
The man raised his hand to rub his brow. "Jason, has anything happened at the Imperial Nightclub recently?"
"No, everything is normal." Hearing the man's question, Jason sighed in relief and patted his chest. "Don't worry, with me here, everything is under control."
