Chapter 706 Alice Sends a Cease and Desist Letter
Odette let out a big ol' sigh, feeling totally wiped from Alice's constant nagging. "Alice, it's not as easy as you think. If we ban their accounts, they'll just make new ones. Are we supposed to track their IPs and ban those, too? We're already handling this as fast as we can. Plus, you wanna be a celeb, right? You gotta expect some haters. Focus on your acting. If you suck, even more people will trash you. You gonna ban all of them, too?"
Alice wasn't having any of it, especially after seeing comments saying she wasn't as good as Natalie. She snarled, "Get the One Day crew to issue a statement now, saying it's all lies, and have the legal team sue that gossip blogger!"
Seeing Alice's stubbornness, Odette just nodded, feeling defeated. "Got it."
Soon enough, hashtags like #One Day Crew Statement# and #Alice Cease And Desist# were blowing up.
The official Facebook page of One Day claimed the rumors were bogus and that Alice was the best fit for the role after considering many actresses.
But hardly anyone bought it. Netizens weren't dumb.
Alice's acting was over the top, and her line delivery sucked. What did she have besides a rich family?
The statement didn't even have an official seal, just a half-hearted response.
[Alice is hilarious. If she's this fragile, why'd she join the entertainment industry?]
[Right? She stole Natalie's gig and now has the nerve to send cease and desist letters. What's the point?]
[First time seeing an actress this petty. We didn't even insult her, just questioned her. Now she's sending letters and statements. This actually makes the gossip blogger seem legit.]
[Alice did steal Natalie's role. Happiness Like a Song was awful. Without filters, her skin looked bad, and her acting was terrible. Here's a clip of her overacting.]
[Don't post pics. It's too cringe.]
[Even my dog is better than her acting. Will Alice send me a cease and desist letter, too?]
And under the Famous Insider Gossip account, the comments were:
[You got a cease and desist letter from Alice.]
[Need money? We'll crowdfund for you.]
The Famous Insider Gossip account quickly posted on Facebook:
[Never thought I'd go from a few thousand followers to thirty thousand in a day. And I never thought someone like me would get a cease and desist letter from Alice. Since that's the case, I'm not holding back. I have a copy of the contract One Day offered to Natalie. But Alice snatched it before it reached her. If Alice insists on suing me, I'll release the contract. Legal threats won't work, Alice. You know what you did.]
