Chapter 797 Keeping the Appointment

Reno didn't have legs and was in a wheelchair, but he was like Carina's mastermind, always giving her hope and direction.

Carina threw herself back into the business world. It was a rollercoaster ride with lots of highs and lows. She went from making tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, then millions, and eventually tens of millions. By the time she hit 35, her software company went public, and she was worth billions.

Carina also tied the knot with her boyfriend Reno, and they had a kid together.

In the movie theater, only about a third of the seats were taken, but Natalie was thrilled that no one was glued to their phones; everyone was actually watching the movie. That was a good sign that the plot was solid and engaging.

Meanwhile, Heather was texting Natalie.

Heather was back in her small hometown, also watching the movie.

Surprisingly, in that small-town theater, half the seats were filled.

As they left the theater, Bella said, "I always thought you got into the entertainment biz just to take a shot. I never realized you are so serious about it."

In this movie, Bella saw how dedicated and hardworking Natalie was.

As a long-time friend, Bella was genuinely surprised.

Bella hugged Natalie and said, "Natalie, I believe in you. You're gonna do great in the entertainment industry. From now on, I'm your biggest fan."

Natalie wanted to get some real feedback from the audience, so she pulled out her phone and checked the reviews for "The Nameless Road" on different platforms. But since the movie had just come out and she wasn't super famous yet, not many people had seen it, leaving not many comments online, either.

The marketing team for "The Nameless Road" was Extreme Reflection Media, a well-known company. This Christmas season, there were several other movies out, so the marketing push wouldn't be the same for all of them; it would depend on the movie's quality.

A movie, no matter how much hype it gets, won't have a good rep if the content isn't there.

On the flip side, a movie with solid quality can do well even with minimal publicity, thanks to word of mouth.

Natalie posted a photo of her movie ticket on Facebook with the caption.

Natalie: [Looking forward to meeting you.]

A bunch of fans commented, saying they were excited or had already seen it.

Natalie got a few calls, one of which was from Heather. Heather said that Charlotte would post a Facebook promo for Natalie's new movie in the afternoon and show pics of her employees watching the movie to highlight their friendship. Heather asked Natalie to share it.

Natalie thought it was a good idea.

Even if Charlotte was trying to ride her coattails, she was doing a good job on the surface, and Natalie didn't mind. Having another friend in the entertainment industry was always better than having another enemy.

Natalie quickly shared Charlotte's Facebook post.

It was the day after Christmas. Almost every shop was closed, but a few coffeehouses and fast-food joints were open.

After leaving the theater, the two of them headed to KFC. Bella sighed, "The first meal after Christmas, and we're eating this. Only I would come on this high-calorie date with you."
