Chapter 338 Disrespecting
Jason embezzled a lot of money.
In his position, the temptation was too strong. The Imperial Nightclub's accounts were off, and Jason knew exactly how much he'd pocketed. But now, the mysterious boss had shown up out of nowhere, making him panic.
After finishing a cigarette, Jason asked, "Do you think he came to check my accounts? Did Quentin rat me out?"
If Jason got fired, Emma would be in trouble too. She didn't want that, so she was racking her brains, trying to come up with a plan for Jason.
Emma said, "What should we do? Quentin hasn't been around much lately. Maybe the boss doesn't know about the accounts."
Jason was frazzled. "He may not be at the nightclub, but Melody is."
Emma was momentarily stunned. She realized it might be good if this got both Melody and Jason fired.
Jason noticed her hesitation. He knew she couldn't help, so he told her to keep quiet and left.
The room reeked of sex. Emma found it disgusting. After Jason left, she opened the window and took a deep breath.
Five minutes later, the cold wind brought her back to her senses. The smell was gone. She closed the window, went to her desk, turned on her computer, and opened an email.
Inside was what Jason most wanted to destroy.
She created a new email account, changed her IP address, and found Melody's email.
With a click, she sent it.
Emma sat back, a smile on her lips.
At 11 PM in private room 606, Colby suggested calling it a night. He was too drunk to stand. Owen was being supported by his girlfriend, and the group gradually left.
Natalie had Dorothy arrange for a designated driver.
Adrian was on the couch, feeling off but couldn't pinpoint why. He had slight double vision and a strong desire for sex.
Christina kept looking back. "Adrian, I didn't drink. Let me take you home."
Natalie was fine with that and handed Christina Adrian's car keys.
Christina watched Natalie pick out Adrian's keys from several others. She thought, 'Does this waitress know Adrian? Or is she just that sharp? But why would Adrian let her touch his stuff?'
As Christina pondered, Dorothy came in and picked up several keys. "Which one is Mr. Martin's car key?"
Natalie thought for a moment. "It should be this one, the BMW key."
She had heard them mention Owen's nicely modified BMW while playing cards.
Adrian stood up, feeling uneasy. Christina held his arm. "Adrian, this way."
Adrian shook her off. "Ms. Phillips?"
Christina bit her lip. "Adrian, you're drunk."
"Ms. Phillips, we're not close enough for you to call me Adrian, got it?" Adrian was cold and distant. Usually, women were intimidated by his demeanor and backed off. Girls from prominent families like Christina typically wouldn't try again after being rejected. But Christina bit her lip; tonight, she finally had a chance with Adrian.
She wasn't letting go easily.
Her face was pale, and her lips trembled.
She knew Adrian was cold, but her grandfather knew Ruben. She had visited the Howard family several times. How could Adrian be so indifferent?
By saying this, he was clearly rejecting her.
But he had just had physical contact with that waitress.
