Chapter 583 Pink Pearl
One of the staff members grinned. "Miss, you hit the jackpot. This pearl is a top-tier rare pink one, perfect for a pendant."
Natalie checked out the pink pearl in her hand, about the size of a thumbnail. It was pretty decent, round and full, with a light pink hue. A natural seawater pearl, not some fake cultivated one, so it had to be worth a lot.
Natalie shot a playful look at Adrian, who was standing nearby. "Mr. Howard, you gonna give this to me?"
Adrian reached into his wallet. "Oops, no cash on me."
Natalie pouted. "Guess you'll have to work here then."
"How long would I need to work to get this pearl?" Adrian sighed. "Why don't we both stay and work here? Might be quicker." He grabbed Natalie's hand, still holding the light pink pearl, and held it with her.
Adrian held Natalie's hand, and Natalie held the pearl.
On the sunset beach, they hugged each other.
The staff around them got the hint and left.
Later that evening, Adrian and Natalie had dinner in the third-floor restaurant of the ship.
This ship was one of the priciest ferries in all of Arborhaven Bay.
It was six stories high and usually only served VIPs.
But tonight, it was just Adrian and Natalie on board.
A phonograph played a sweet tune.
The crystal chandelier's light was bright with a warm yellow glow, adding a cozy vibe.
The open window let in a faint salty sea breeze, gently messing with Natalie's hair.
Adrian said, "I heard you're planning a press conference next week."
Natalie nodded, eyes determined. "Yeah. I need to clear up something I didn't do."
Adrian cut in gently, "No need. I already canceled it for you."
Natalie stared at him in disbelief. Adrian was elegantly cutting steak for her. She stayed silent for a few minutes before asking, "Why?"
Adrian said, "This thing is almost over. A press conference will just blow it up in the media. The next day, it'll be the top headline again. Most social news fades in three days; people are forgetful. Time is the best forgetter. Just focus on your acting, and don't worry about the rest."
Natalie bit her lip slightly. "But why should I take the blame? The person in the photo isn't me. Why should I admit it? I have proof it's not me. Why can't I hold a press conference? Why should I admit to something I didn't do?"
"Natalie," Adrian said, "You're too stubborn. I'm doing this for your own good."
"Your 'for my own good' means my admitting to something I didn't do?" Natalie felt hurt. Her good mood for the day was gone. She looked at the steak Adrian handed her and lost her appetite, feeling only a wave of greasiness.
She asked, "Adrian, don't you believe me either?"
Adrian looked at her reddened eyes. "I believe you."
Natalie pressed, "Then why won't you let me clear things up?"
Adrian looked at her, his expression complicated. "Let's just let this go. This won't affect you."
