Chapter 969 The Past
Milan pushed the door open and stepped out, spotting Derek waiting outside.
Milan had this gentle, warm smile that seemed harmless, but everyone in the business world knew he was a beast in disguise. His name carried weight.
"You must be Ms. Teeger's bodyguard, Mr. Rivera, right?" Milan said, nodding slightly, a cold blue glint flashing across his glasses, masking the smile in his eyes.
Derek looked at him, "Mr. Runyon, it's an honor to finally meet you."
Milan pulled out a business card and handed it to Derek, "We both work for Ms. Teeger, so we're on the same team. If you need anything, you can find me at the Imperial Nightclub."
Derek took the card, glanced at it, and said, "Got it."
He escorted Milan out, watched him get into the car, and then headed back to the hotel. He knocked on the door, and when he heard Natalie's response, he walked in.
Natalie was by the window, reading a script, with Heather nearby. But it was clear Natalie wasn't into the script, as she raised her hand to rub her brow.
Derek walked over, "Ms. Teeger, I need to head back to Vachilit for a couple of days. I'll arrange for a driver to be here while I'm gone."
Natalie nodded.
Everyone had their own stuff to deal with, and she got that.
"There's one more thing. While looking into Nicholas, I also dug into Cassidy. Turns out, Cassidy has a weird connection with Heather's boyfriend, Yancy." He said, glancing at Heather.
Heather looked shocked.
Natalie raised her eyes, stunned. "Go on."
"Alright, so here's the deal with Cassidy becoming Xavier's wife. Cassidy was originally just a woman by Xavier's side, even though he had a family. His legit wife, Sloane Howard, was from the Howard family. Xavier and Sloane were in love with each other, but Sloane's health went downhill. Plus, Xavier wanted to take down his enemy, Tobias, so he had Cassidy seduce Tobias to get secrets. It worked, and Cassidy moved into the Reynolds Villa. Naturally, Sloane wasn't cool with it, and her relationship with Xavier got super strained. Then, the Reynolds Group hit a financial crisis, which Cassidy helped resolve. That was the first time her business skills showed. Later..."
Heather chimed in calmly, "Later, Sloane died, and Cassidy naturally became Xavier's wife."
Derek nodded. "Yep, but she also has a kid with Tobias."
Natalie pressed her lips together. She hadn't seen that coming. Cassidy followed Xavier's orders to seduce Tobias but ended up falling for him and getting pregnant.
Heather queried, "Did Xavier agree to that?"
She had already guessed that Yancy was Cassidy and Tobias's son.
That day, when Cassidy met Heather at the café, she offered two million dollars for Heather to leave Yancy. At the time, Heather thought the elegant woman in front of her was just a wealthy lady, and Yancy was a rich kid who had fallen out with his family and was running a bar.
She had guessed Yancy's identity wasn't simple, but she hadn't expected it to be this complicated.
Derek continued, "So, Yancy has always been raised by Cassidy in the Reynolds family. Later, Tobias went abroad and hasn't come back since."
