Chapter 788 Owing
Apart from the caregiver, Jerry was always by Rosalie's side.
Jerry was ticked off at Natalie for not showing up. "Natalie is really out of line! You're in this condition, and she doesn't even come to see you. Even if you had a fight, can a grudge between mother and daughter really last this long?"
Rosalie, weak and tired, said, "Don't blame Natalie. It's not her fault."
Jerry shot back, "How is it not her fault? She used to treat you so well, but now that she's famous and rich, she's forgotten her roots and left you here. I heard from the nurses that you've been here for months, and Natalie hasn't come to see you more than twice! It's too much. If I see her next time, I'll definitely give her a piece of my mind!"
"No, you can't," Rosalie said, knowing she owed Natalie too much.
Jerry huffed, "You just keep defending her."
Rosalie sighed, "It's me who has wronged Natalie."
Jerry, clueless about what had gone down between them, said, "What could you, as a mother, have done to wrong your daughter?"
Rosalie stayed silent.
Thinking she was feeling down, Jerry stood up. "I'll go get you some lunch. You rest here, and if you need anything, just ask the caregiver or press the bell for the nurse."
Rosalie nodded.
At noon, after bringing lunch, Jerry left while Rosalie was sleeping.
He took a cab to the Dynamic Entertainment building.
The building was tall and imposing.
Jerry, in his shabby clothes, walked in and was immediately stopped by security at the entrance.
Heather got a call from the security department on the first floor.
They said an elderly man, about sixty, was looking for Natalie and claimed to be a relative.
After hanging up, Heather hurried down and saw Jerry in the security room.
As soon as Jerry saw Heather, he said, "Where's Natalie? Tell her to come down."
"What are you doing here?" Heather initially had some respect for elders, but seeing Jerry's complete lack of respect for Natalie, she got a bit colder.
Jerry said, "I'm here to see Natalie. Now that she's a big star, she doesn't even recognize her own mother?"
Heather knew there were many people around, so she took Jerry back to her office.
She poured him a glass of water and asked, "How did Rosalie's surgery go?"
"The surgery was very successful," Jerry said, "But I don't know what kind of conflict Natalie has with Rosalie. Rosalie is still her mother. This surgery was so dangerous, so how could Natalie, as a daughter, not come to see her! I know Natalie paid for the surgery, and I know she's a big star now and can't come out easily, but what could be more important than her own mother? Natalie wasn't like this before; what changed her?"
Heather, staying calm, said, "Mr. Allen, maybe nothing changed Natalie, but Rosalie did. And," she paused heavily, "There's no place for us to interfere. I'm just Natalie's friend and agent, and you are just Rosalie's friend. We don't know much about the inside story, so I hope you don't judge Natalie based on a few words or incomplete information!"
Being reprimanded by someone younger, Jerry seemed a bit angry. But there was nothing he could do.
