Chapter 422 But I Have You

Natalie jogged up to a sleek black Maybach, her breath coming in quick puffs.

She gave the window a light tap, and it slid down to reveal Adrian's face.

Natalie hopped in. "What are you doing here? Didn't I text you I'd be late tonight?"

As she settled into the car, a cozy warmth wrapped around her. She buckled up and spotted a cup of hot cocoa in the holder, looking a bit surprised. "Did you get this?"

She took a sip, feeling the warmth spread through her.

Adrian started the car, headlights cutting through the night. He kept his eyes on the road. "Yeah, I got it for Lucky."

Natalie glanced at the cocoa and said seriously, "Dogs can't drink this."

Adrian chuckled, not expecting her to be so serious. He was about to say it was for her when Natalie added, "Lucky can't have it, so I'll drink it for him."

Adrian smirked, "Aren't you actresses all about body management?"

Natalie took another sip, looking at him seriously. "Mr. Howard, isn't my figure good enough?"

Adrian's fingers drummed on the steering wheel, a faint smile on his lips. "It's perfect."

Natalie asked, "I still haven't asked, why are you here?"

Adrian replied, "Just passing by."

Natalie shook the warm cocoa in her hand. "Passing by and bought hot cocoa?"

Adrian asked, "Don't like it?"

"I do." Natalie took a big, satisfied gulp.

Adrian said, "Anyone in the crew show up late today?"

Natalie was hesitant. "Yeah, she should be here soon."

Adrian continued, "I remember the lead role was offered to you, why didn't you take it?"

Natalie's eyelashes fluttered. "I didn't think the lead role suited me, but this supporting role is pretty good."

Adrian asked, "Do you think Samantha is fit for the lead role?"

Samantha, fresh out of film school, was making her debut with this role. She had signed with Dynamic Entertainment, and her first gig was the lead.

Natalie said, "I don't know if she's fit, but I don't think I am. Every role needs to fit the actor, or it looks weird." She knew Adrian wouldn't like hearing this. He didn't appreciate people rejecting his plans. Since he gave her this role, he had it all figured out. Her refusal and taking a supporting role instead wouldn't sit well with him.

So Natalie smiled and said, "But I have you, Mr. Howard. I'm not lacking in opportunities. As long as I'm with you, I'll always have roles."

This was what Adrian liked to hear.

Sure enough, Natalie saw a smile creep onto Adrian's lips.

Adrian said, "I'll have Mindy arrange your future roles."

Natalie nodded. "Okay."

He was assertive, and Natalie was compliant, willing to follow his lead.

After all, why refuse opportunities that were handed to her?

Adrian drove her to a restaurant.

He had made a reservation. As soon as they walked in, the waiter led them to the second floor.

Rachel's voice rang out. "Adrian, you're here too."

Today was Rachel's good friend Tyler Gonzalez's birthday, and he had invited some friends for dinner.

This restaurant was pretty upscale and well-known. It didn't have private rooms, just small halls on the second floor. Each hall had four tables, and each table could seat eight people. Tyler had booked one of the small halls, but because the restaurant was so popular, someone else had already booked.

Tyler had thought that when the other guests arrived, he would offer them some money to dine elsewhere so he could have the whole hall.

But he didn't expect the guests to be Adrian and Alice. No, this woman wasn't Alice.
